So I’m just going to jump right into it. How many of you see static in your vision 24/7 along with little flashes of color? Apparently this is a rare condition called “ Visual Snow “. I’ve had this all my life and never realized this was different until I found this video talking about it.
I find this all very interesting and intriguing. Along with the fact that I have Synesthesia basically means I have a lot of weird things going on with my eyes.
So what’re your thoughts on it?

I actually thought that it was just how sight was in general…

Most people with it don’t even realize they have it if they’ve had it unless they just wake up one day and it happens.

That purple screen, mine is like that kind of static, but mild. Just thought it was normal.

Maybe those reports are wrong and everyone sees this? Or people who actually have the visual snow thing see it really extreme.

Cuz if it’s so rare what are the chances of all three of us having the same thing and stuff?

No idea. Everybody sees it at night whether they realize it or not. I think people with Visual Snow see it all day no matter the time. The symptoms probably don’t apply to most people, but what do I know. I’ve always had this static-y effect to my sight, the ringing in my ears, a lasting image in my vision, etc.

Well, you have to keep in mind there are billions of people in the world.

Hang on, imma just look at the comments of that person’s video thing to see if they’re all saying, “I have this too?”

Yeah I have it all the time. It’s more visible in darkness, like a literal thicker covering of it. I get ringing in my ears at times. But my eyes have always been sensitive to light, like in the day, even cloudy days it hurts my eyes to look at the sky. Or even at the ground where the bright light is. In the day it’s less clear though, I’m looking at the wall at the moment and can see it but not really clearly, but the one with the shade on it, I can see it more.

This is so fascinating, I never knew there was a word for this. It’s a really cool term too, visual snow! I’m super into the research behind this going further, because I actually don’t have it, or if I do it’s incredibly mild. I only really see static in the dark against grey walls and stuff like that, never anywhere else.
Big suppport, much like

That purple looks like when I focus hard on solid colours – mainly black or white. But it’s barely visible. IDK what that means about my eyesight, though!

I don’t get the ear ringing but I do have a headache every day (may just be because I don’t drink enough water tho) and I’m sensitive to light and I see little dots over everything and I can see it a lot more at night and it actually worsens my vision because it makes things blur into the background.

Yeah, apparently everybody experiences this in the dark, but some people see it all day.

The last time I was at the eye doctor she had to check me eyes and to do that she had to put a VERY bright light against them and it took her like ten minutes and I just kept turning my head away because my eyes were burning and tearing up- it was like I was looking into the sun!

I’ve had her shine a bright light into my eyes but it didn’t bother me, but if I go outside my eyes burn like hell for about 10 minutes before I adjust.

I think I only have it mildly though I feel bad for those who have it worse
