Jessica Fox

Though the girl sat down slowly and made it very apparent that she wanted to talk to Jess, it still surprised her to know someone wanted to talk to her. Jessica removed her hood and held out her hand to shake it. “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Jessica Fox. But everyone calls me Jess. I guess we’ll both be in this whole ordeal together,” there was a gentle smile on Jess’ lips as she said this. "So what do you do? As in career wise. Not just general helping the Earth wise. Sorry, I’m rambling a bit.

Kellan nodded as Noah said he was nervous. Kellan chuckled slightly as he commented on his accent. “Well thanks. I get that often when Americans hear me.” Kellan nodded in agreement. “That I am. This is certainly out of my element. I’ve never had much experience with relationships, and who knows what the ladies’ll think of any of us.”

“I mean I haven’t had that many relationships with the females either. It’s not really my specialty.” I said truthfully.
“But I’m pretty sure you will do good with the ladies. I have tough competition around here.” I said while looking around the room.

I reached out to shake Jessica’s hand. “It’s nice to meet you, I kind of have my guard up because I’m starting to see everyone here as competition.” I giggled and listened to her ask about what my career is. “I pride myself In my career so I am always happy to talk about it. I’m a fashion designer. I’m trying to start my own clothing line soon but It takes time ya know? What kind of career do you have?” I asked while studying her.

“Maori.” He repeated after him, raising his brows in curiosity but letting him finish his sentence. “Of course that won’t annoy us.” He chuckled for a second looking at the two other guys hoping they would agree. “In fact, feel free to do it whenever you want. I’ve never met someone that speaks it but that’s really cool.” He said with a genuine chuckle looking back at him now. He never really had the chance to meet people from different countries or people that speak different language, only in the bar he used to work at but it wasn’t that often.

“You guys can sing all the sad songs you want, but I know I’ll find someone. The ladies love a musician.”
Laughing lightly to that he crossed his arms in amusement, nodding slightly. “See, that’s the spirit I’m looking for. No ifs just optimism.” He pointed out with a smirk on his face, lightly nudging Noah with his leg. He was a confident guy and he did have high hopes coming here but of course there are high chances things don’t go right. “But I’d be more than happy to whine with you if it doesn’t workout.” Jokingly adding in almost a whisper he put on a guilty smile. “And I was just joking, of course the bro code works here. We’re doing this the nice way.” With a reassuring smile he added shifting his gaze to Owen. “But I agree with you. If I were in girls’ place, I would be excited to meet us.” With a smirk he looked down at his rings. Coming here he did knew what he was looking for, he does like girls with certain personality so he just hoped he would find a girl that fits that.

“So what do you guys do for a living?”
“I’m an assistant professor at the Melbourne School of Design. In the architecture department.” With a proud yet sweet smile he straightened up a bit, looking between the guys. It was something he was really proud of, it took a lot of hard work to get where he is considering what his life used to look like. A lot of jobs on the side just to pay for that school and his education. “But I was a bartender for the longest time too. So if someone needs some drinks they’ve never tried before I’m your guy.” Laughing lightly he slouched in the couch, waiting for them to answer Nash’s question.

I’m excited too. It will probably be very strange. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out to be one big prank and this whole time, I was talking to a robot.
I laughed “Damn. I haven’t even
thought about that. They’ll have to be some complex robots though” I said with a light nod
But let’s face it, we are great.
“We are pretty great, bro isn’t lying” I said with a smirk “but I bet the girls are even greater” I chuckled
Oh! It means ‘Hello’ in Maori. I may only be whakaranu , or mixed, as you guys would say, but that doesn’t make me any less proud of who I am. I’ll probably be switching between English and Maori a lot, just to let you guys know. I hope I don’t annoy you!
“Maori?” I raised my brow “that’s actually really cool. I doubt I’ll be finding that annoying” I said
You guys can sing all the sad songs you want, but I know I’ll find someone. The ladies love a musician
I laughed “let’s just hope there’s a different girl there for each of us, and we’ll all leave this place with someone special” I said with a smile. Hoping won’t kill anyone will it?
Of course we will, dude! And if we don’t, at least we have each other, right?
“Damn right” I smiled “I already have a good feeling about you guys” I said
So what do you guys do for a living?
“I own a restaurant. I also cook” I added with a light smile, even though I’ve been spending less time at work than I used to a few years ago, but I still love my job with all my heart.
I’m an assistant professor at the Columbia University in New York. In the architecture department.
“Oh wow, impressive” I said with an impressed nod
But I was a bartender for the longest time too. So if someone needs some drinks they’ve never tried before I’m your guy.
“That’s actually pretty cool, I think that would probably come in handy later on” I smirked, even though I don’t drink too often

“I can lend you one of them if you want…”
“I would really like that!” She enthusiastically said with a bright smile. She wasn’t joking when she mentioned poetry, it is something she loves but she also wanted to make her feel more included by engaging in such conversation.
She wanted to answer her question and say something about Sweden but other girls already came so she gave them a chance to introduce themselves first. She went silent for a moment, taking that time to properly look at them, keeping a sweet smile on. So far it looked like she would really like it here and she wanted to make everyone feel comfortable around her. “Sweden sounds really nice!” She tried to continue their conversation, playing with a loose strand of hair that fell from her bun. “That’s the complete opposite of where I live. I’m from Hawaii so I’m not really used to cold.” Giggling she slightly shrugged, trying to remember the last time she wore something covering her whole body. “Do you like it there?” She curiously yet quietly asked, leaning back.

“Don’t worry, it won’t bother us,” he said to Nash. “On the contrary, maybe it will be an opportunity to learn a new language!” he clapped his hands. Owen loved learning new things. The rest of the men also didn’t mind that. "You say they are going to like musicians? Oh, that’s some hope for me.” Owen breathed a sigh of relief, dramatically wiping the invisible sweat off his forehead.

They discussed the bro code and how great they are, for a while, to finally move onto the next topic: work. Owen was not ashamed of what he does “professionally”, but he did not like to boast about it either. He knew how people reacted to this. “Wow, restaurateur, professor. Impressive. Have you always wanted to do it in your life?” he asked with sincere curiosity.

He tried to delay the answer about what he was doing… because then his charismatic personality would immediately go into oblivion. However, he was aware that the longer he would prevent it, the more strange it would seem to his interlocutors. “I am a free spirit. I make movies, play in local theaters, perform in musicals from time to time, but I’m not employed anywhere.” He replied with a shrug. “Sometimes I edit videos from weddings or birthday parties.” he continued. “But all my energy is focused on writing the script for my newest film project - this will be my biggest one so far.” He smiled wanly. He was proud that he was chasing his dreams, but he knew that at the age of thirty he should have settled down already.

I sit back and watch everyone talk and listen. I wondered how many other people were coming and if there would be the same amount of guys here so everyone gets someone or what will happen and I’m excited to see more of what the ladies are like. I then snapped my self back to reality. “Yeah how do you like it here so far?” I was curious to.

She kind of had to agree with Sierra. While guys would probably be talking about Bro Code and not screwing eachother over. While the girls would be seeing all the girls as competition. It was just how girls saw everything. “You shouldn’t be worried. You seem like a really nice person. You also have a soft voice, meaning people are going to be attracted to you.” Jessica was honestly a little intimidated to hear what Sierra does. “Well maybe I could buy a few items when it’s up. My wardrobe has been suffering lately.” She was a little scared to say, some people found her job extremely nerdy. “I’m a surgeon,” she said after deciding that Sierra wouldn’t make fun of her. Well, not to her face. “I’ve been going to school the past ten years to become one. So I haven’t really had any time for dating. I’m 28, by the way. How old are you?”

“Hey,” I said back to a girl with a smile as I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. She was dressed up and it almost made me questioning what I wore. It was more casual but I guess that was more me. I usually just wore leggings and a sports bra or something relaxed so to me this was dressed up.
“I am Luna.” I added and told her my name.

Lisette was showered with so many questions that before she was able to answer the previous ones, she was flooded with more inquiries. Some girls seemed very moved by her shyness. True, Lisette didn’t like talking, but that didn’t mean she should be treated more carefully. She sighed, looking at the girls and while, keeping eye contact with them, began to answer their questions. “I am Lisette. I don’t live in Sweden anymore, I moved to Canada, about 7 years ago and I haven’t been dating since then, so I’m very stressed about being here.” She replied in one breath. There was a moment of silence, which Lisette decided to break with a short: “And you?”

It was cool how Jessica was super nice to me, even though I could be her potential competition. It was refreshing.“Thank you. You also have a nice voice.” I said.

“I would be happy to show you what kind of style I have. I have a huge closet full of stuff.” It might have seemed like I’m bragging to people, but I’m not right? “Also, you must be a very boss person to become a surgeon. That takes a lot of determination. It’s taking a lot of determination to get my business started.”

I’m 26 by by the way.

(This is happening at separate time on both sides of the house, girls and guys)

Two figures, our hosts, a man and a woman, walk through the doors of the common living areas,
“Hey hey!” The guy says, and they both smile at the cheering people in the room.
“How are you guys doing?” The girl asks, and they both stand in front of the gathered contestants
“I’m Vanessa Lachay” the woman introduces herself, “and I’m obviously Nick Lachay, her husband” the guy adds
“Welcome to the blind love experiment!” Vanessa adds
“Here you will choose someone to marry,” (Dramatic pause) ”Without ever seeing them” Nick announces
“We live in such a disconnected and distracted world, where your value is often judges mostly, if not only by your looks, or your dating app profile picture.” Vanessa starts
“But everyone wants to be loved, for who they are, not for their looks… their race… their background or their income…“ she adds
Nick starts talking “Psychologists believe that emotional connection is the key to long term marital success, not physical attraction”
“So here, your goal is to form a strong intimate connection without nothing to distract you, this is how it’s going to work…” Vanessa starts “Over the next days, you Girls/Guys will be living in this side, and the Girls/Guys will be living on the others.״
״you’re going to meet a series of potential love interests, but looks won’t be playing a factor” Nick explains “we’ve taken away your devices, and the only way you’re going to interact is in one of our private pods”

“You will be separated by one thin wall” Vanessa explains “but you will never get to see each other”
“You will get to speak with several potential love interests, and after you speak to them all for the first time, you will have the choice of who you want to talk to more.”
“When you choose the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, you’ll propose” nick says “If they accept, you’ll get to see your fiancé for the very first time.”
“You’ll come out of here an engaged couple,” Vanessa adds “with a wedding date”
“You’ll move in together, see your family and friends” Nick adds “and in just four weeks you’ll be at your wedding.”
“This is probably the most important decision you’ll make in your lives, will you say I do to the person you chose here, sight unseen” Vanessa asks “or will physical realities of the outside world sabotage you? And you’ll walk away from them forever…”
“All around that one question, Is love truly blind?” Vanessa smiles
“We sure hope so” Nick adds
“If you’re ready to find the love of your life, walk through these doors.” Vanessa points “because the pods, are now open” she announces with a smile

I cheered as the hosts explained the process, it was a very unique process if you ask me.
Kind of stressing, but also very very exciting.
We all got up, and I walked into the pod.
There was a sofa in it, and a light blue window, though you couldn’t see anything through it
“Hello? Can you hear me?” I asked with my British accent, and turned to sit on the sofa

Once we were told the rules all of us ladies went through the door to a random pod. I walked in and I saw it’s Was a decent size pod and it had a couch in and with some blankets and some drinks and a blue wall thing. I got myself a drink and said “hello”. I was not sure if the other person was in there or not yet.

Cameron Hill

I loved it here so far and as we were waiting I saw more and more guys come in and they got into conversations. Eventually the hosts walk in and explain the Rules. I was so excited especially meeting the ladies. We all went to a random
Pod and I walked in. “Hello is anyone there?”

A conversation he was having with the guys was interrupted by two people coming in. Hosts to be exact so he straightened up shifting his full attention to them. Once they were done he looked towards the door and got up almost right away, fixing his shirt and now feeling just a bit anxious. That’s not like him at all, he is a laid back guy always up for anything but for some reason this was making even him nervous. When you think about it, you could actually find someone to spend your life with here. “Well, good luck.” With a goofy smile he rubbed his palms together looking at everyone around him before picking up a little notebook and walking towards the pods.

Taking a deep breath he walked in one, looking around for a second before letting his hand slide over the couch. This is insane. He thought for a moment as he sat down on the floor, letting his back hit the couch behind him, laughing lightly to himself. In front of him was a blue looking window that was supposedly separating him from some random girl. This really is insane.
“Hi.” He enthusiastically said laughing just a bit louder as he ran his hand through his hair. “I have a quick question for you, before we get on with this. What do you think about aliens?” Opening his notebook and setting it on his lap he started drawing random shapes as he gave her a second to react to it but he quickly looked up at the window, chuckling. “Joking. On a serious note, I’m Hudson Ronin. And you?” With gentle words he asked her, trying not to sound like some lunatic that would raid area 51 all alone with foil wrapped around his head. But that was something he liked to talk about. Stuff you could find yourself thinking about late at night while looking up at the sky. Deep conversation about everything and anything.

After one of the hosts started explaining the show, everyone separated in their own ways - heading for the pods over yonder. Was I ready for this? Probably not. Did I want to? Heck yeah, I did. I walked towards my assigned pod and entered, taking my time to look around the room as I made my way to the sofa.
“Hello?”
I raised a brow and fixed my hat as I sat down onto the couch. “Howdy,” I said, leaning forward with my elbows on my knees. “I reckon we just talk…?” I said in more of a question, chuckling lightly. I wasn’t used to this kind of stuff. Tv shows and glamor were all new to me. “I’m Austen.” I told her with a smile.

I heard a voice say howdy and reckon so it sounds like Austen is from the south. When Austen said “I reckon we just talk…?“ “yeah I guess so” I chuckled a little as well. “Nice to meet you Austen, I’m Casey. Where are you from Austen? I’m guessing somewhere down south.” I say smiling. I was excited for this experience but also a little nervous but I wasn’t going to let it show.

I was having fun talking to Kellan when the host’s came into the room. It was a really surreal experience and I couldn’t believe that i was on a tv show. They told us to go into the pods. I said bye to Kellan and went to the pods. I couldn’t believe that my soulmate could be on the other side of my pod. It was hard to believe but i had to have hope. The pod looked so beautiful. I could literally live in here I thought. I made sure to get comfortable and take a deep breath. “Ummm…hello? Is anyone there?” I asked awkwardly. I didn’t really know how to begin this conversation.

When I saw the host’s come In I was super excited and nervous because that meant that this experience was going to start. When they were done speaking they told each of us to go in a pod so thay we could talk to out potential match. I said goodbye to Jessica and pushed open the door to the pod. It looked so beautiful and comfy. I wished that I had some wine to cool my nerves but it was fine. As i was sitting down i heard someone from across the pod ask who was there. “I’m right here!” I called out loudly. “What’s your name?” I asked.

“Nice to meet you Austen, I’m Casey. Where are you from Austen? I’m guessing somewhere down south.”

I chuckled lightly and nodded - although, it wasn’t of much use since we couldn’t see each other. “Nice to meet ya, Casey.” I told her, playing with a guitar pick between my fingers. “And how’d you know?” I joked.
“Yeah, I’m from Dallas, Texas. Where are you from, little lady?” I said, smiling lightly.
