We’re excited to introduce our new Monthly Activity Badges, designed to recognise and celebrate the members who help keep this forum active, welcoming, and creative!
At the end of each month, we’ll be acknowledging the top three users on our Most Active Forumers gamification leaderboard with special badges.
The Badges
MVF - Most Valuable Forumer - Awarded to the most active user on the leaderboard for that month.
Standout Forumer - Awarded to the second most active user on the leaderboard for that month.
Rising Forumer - Awarded to the third most active user on the leaderboard for that month.
How the Leaderboard works
The leaderboard tracks general activity across the forum throughout the month. Points (called Cheers) are earned through everyday participation, even just logging into the forum every day gives you a Cheer.
The goal isn’t to post the most, but to show up consistently and contribute to the community. Activity resets each month, so everyone starts fresh with a new chance to earn a badge.
Note: After January, leaderboard months are calculated over rolling 30-day periods rather than strict calendar months. This means it can be harder to tell who’s in the lead until the end of the month.
A good rule of thumb is if you’re consistently near the top during the month, you’re likely in the running for a badge.
How the Cheers work
Cheers are the points used to calculate activity on the leaderboard. You can earn Cheers in a variety of simple ways each day. Here’s a list of ways to gain Cheers and how many you’ll get from each:
+1 Cheer:
- Like received
- Reaction received
- An hour reading
- Daily Login
+2 Cheers:
- Like given
- Reaction given
- Creating a post
+3 Cheers:
- Every 100 posts read
+5 Cheers:
- Creating a thread
+10 Cheers:
- When you flag something and it’s accepted
30+ Cheers:
- User invited redeemed
Cheers are designed to reward regular participation, not just high-volume posting. Thoughtful engagement, steady activity, and being present in the community all contribute to your total.
These badges are about participation and presence, not perfection. Whether you’re sharing your writing, reading, joining discussions, or reacting to others’ posts, it all counts toward keeping this space alive and supportive.
Bonus Rewards:
It’s not just about getting a badge either, as the three badge winners also get a prize.
Access to the Foundation!
1st = a month of Foundation access
2nd = 2 weeks of Foundation access
3rd = a week of Foundation access
If you already have access through another reward or payment, you may gift it to another user. If no user is named within 48 hours, the access will be passed to the next eligible user without access, starting from 10th place or lower on the daily leaderboard.
