National Dog Day is celebrated August 26th annually and was founded in 2004 by Pet & Family Lifestyle Expert, Animal Rescue Advocate, Conservationist, Dog Trainer and Author, Colleen Paige. The day marks the date she adopted her first family dog, Sheltie. The day has been adopted around the world, and it is even written into legislation in New York, showing just how important it is.
Dog Day has been created so that all breeds of dogs are celebrated. The day is all about paying tribute to these incredible animals who work selflessly to bring comfort, keep us safe, and save lives.

On the National Dog Day website, you can find ways to celebrate this day!
Go give your dog tons of hugs and kisses. :dog: :blue_heart:

Well, I wanted to anyway

Although Dog Day was quite some time ago, we can still show our dogs that we care any day!

All of us dog owners love our dogs, but any of us can certainly appreciate how cute dogs are and the bond between dogs and humans.
