Well when he knows, he’s sitting right there at her bedside begging for her to be okay
Only 2 situations make him cry
Severe pain so he can’t stop any tears
And the fear of Addie dying

The two people he trusted most in the world, both gone.
There’s maybe 2 people left in the world that he remotely trusts at that point. His sister, and probably Harry’s sister. But even both of them are to a much lesser extent than he trusted harry and Addie…
Dying might’ve been less painful
He’ll find some alcohol before long, drown out the pain.
Rich had wonderful parents. They just didn’t get to raise their son
He’s awful
And we both know that was probably the least of what he said…
Harry knows how Leo has tried defending him to his dad…
He was always the one helping get Leo away from his house after his dad hit him…
Well Leo doesn’t understand
He just knows Addie doesn’t want him.
And harry picked her over him.
His father makes it pretty clear that’s not the case…
And maybe if he was more, Addie wouldn’t have left. Or at least she would’ve come back. Or harry would’ve picked his best friend instead of Addie
Then why didn’t she choose him
Harry still made his choice.
Leo begged harry. And he still chose to marry Addie.
Reasons or not, he still picked to marry the girl his best friend begged him not to.
Leo is running off of what he knows
He doesn’t know what Harry will become
He thinks Addie will get the harry that Leo’s known all these years
Jackie finally saw the real rich
He doesn’t think he deserves her
Harry was always amazing as his best friend, he would deserve someone as amazing as Addie.
The instant Leo and Addie were married, there would’ve been nothing rich could’ve done to keep Leo from fighting for her and helping her succeed.
He couldn’t safely do more until they were married. He knows his father would retaliate, but once he was married to Addie, he’d be able to better protect her.
Leo doesn’t see it that way
