I’m just going to say, I think the rp is taking place in a world where things have gotten better from that. Much better where people have better rights.
Like, laws in the 2040 of the rp are not equivalent to all of the laws of present day out of rp. For example, in BR2, we even say that the drinking age is 18 instead of 21 like it would have been for the BR1 characters in 2020

And just like, our present didn’t necessarily happen in the rp’s timeline.
Otherwise BR1 senior year would have been so twisted by Covid. Which didn’t happen in the rp
