Welcome back everyone to Part 2 of my BBO, Couples As Taylor Swift Songs

This part features some add ins to previous pairings, as well as some new pairings including BR2 ones! Plus a new bonus section, some songs that I feel fit an individual character specifically.

  > This one fairly clearly represents the beginning of their marriage. It’s the way Miranda feels about Leo, practically worshiping him, while he would simply, tolerate it. He was closed off, cold, looking at her as an obligation…

• Superman
  > This is especially for very beginning of their relationship, with her crush on him in the beginning while he was with Addie. But I feel like it still fits the entirety of their relationship, even later on when they had been married for years. Always there, caring about him while he lives his life, and just hoping he comes back to her at the end of the day. Additionally, it fits with the same imagery of Miranda’s view of Leo. While she’s ordinary, he’s something special, something above her, more powerful. She’s compared him to a Greek god before, while this song is referring to him as Superman. When he’s literally been in that hero role before for her, having kept her from drowning.

  > It’s how Jess views everything that happened. The way Kai would say he was sorry, and she would believe him, but then he would only end up hurting her again. But now its too late for him to do it right and make up for it all.
• Invisible String
  > Just like their parents, the universe has always tried pulling them together. Just in this world, there’s no hope for them anymore…

• Starlight
  > “The night we snuck into a yacht club party
  Pretending to be a duchess and a prince”
  That line reminds me of their first date when they snuck into that wedding.

• The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
  > I feel like this is self explanatory enough for the way he treated her and ended things. And just who he is as a person in general.
• My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite toys
  > Again, self explanatory enough.
• Cold as you
  > This is definitely Jackie looking at who he was when their relationship ended
• The Story of Us
  > I feel like this is fitting for the end of their relationship. Especially the line of “But you held your pride like you should have held me.”

Sophie & Zek: (Me & @astxrism)

• Now That We Don’t Talk
  > Along with their short relationship, their friendship also ended. They don’t talk anymore, she can’t be his friend. In Sophie’s view he changed and they can’t go back to how it was. Even if she misses how things were when they were friends

Annie & Ricky: (@novella & @benitz786)

• Out of the Woods
  > This one just feels right for them.
• Say Don’t Go
  > This one makes me think of their relationship ending. Possibly Annie’s perspective, in feeling like he didn’t care and just led her on to hurt her. But at the same time, it’s more Ricky’s perspective, in wishing for her to want him and to let him try, and wanting her to not go.

  > This is definitely fitting for them. He just knew what he did would get back to her, so he didn’t even try begging for forgiveness.

Laurel & Raph: (Me & @CerealKiller)

• Suburban Legends
  > The line of “I broke my own heart 'cause you were too polite to do it” is definitely Laurel coded. Ending the relationship, even if it hurt her, to do it first so he couldn’t. Since in her mind it would end eventually anyway so it was better to be then instead of later when it would hurt more.

Eddie & Paige: (Me & @benitz786)
these are more future instead of past/present, but I still wanted to include them

• Mary’s Song
  > They were best friends as kids, and it wouldn’t be surprising if there were family members that joked about them one day ending up together.
• Delicate
• You Are in Love
  > I’m doing the explanation of these two together. These are the begining of them having an actual relationship, and falling in love. Some parts of them give more of Paige’s perspective, but some parts of it give more Eddie’s perspective. Like, the chorus of Delicate is much more Eddie, with the anxiety of not wanting to say and do the wrong thing. And I like the mention in You Are In Love of “Coffee at midnight” and that seems like a likely occurrence with Mr insomnia aka Eddie But in general both songs seem like they fit really well for them. Neither song seems like it gives the full picture, but both seems much closer.

Laurel:

• The Bolter
  > This song to me fits how Laurel runs from relationships once she starts to have feelings. She’ll break their hearts, but she leaves and keeps that freedom in trying to protect herself from being hurt later. This song also gives me Paige vibes though.

Kai:

• Anti-Hero
  > Just the whole song gives me kai vibes. It always has. Just everything about it feels like it could be what’s going through his head. He knows he’s the problem when it comes to everybody around him.
