So I’ve been thinking, we get a drop in activity between about 1 am Central American time to 3 am central American time. Do you have any ideas on keeping the activity up even during these late or early hours for some users? If so, then post them down below. Once we have a good list of ideas I can make a poll for everyone to choose from. Here are some ideas that can be used as well:
Games that bring people together such as forum games, videogames, and so on.
Make your own text-based Choice story for others to navigate. Similar to @RainbowCat’s Interactive stories and Choice of Games app stories.
Guess the book, video game, movies, tv show games. Similar to guess the users but on media instead.
Active debates over fun topics
Episode reviewing and making group choices but with Episode stories. Similar to my Otome Review thread where you would record the episode and put a poll for people to choose from.
These are just some of the neat ideas that could be fun to come up with. So please let us know what activities are you interested in and would like to do on the forums? Keeping up the activity on the forums will help with bringing in more users to forums and also, keep the forums going in the direction we would like it to go!
Also, you can’t expect people to be active 24/7. It’s okay if like 5 hours are not active. People need to sleep. Also, it’s hard times. Maybe these people are hanging out with their family in their homes. People have lives and it’s hard to be on all the time. If 5 hours of the day is not active, that gives you 19 hours of activity. Be happy with what chu got. Activities at varied times can be helpful for those in different times zones. Not everyone is american…or lives in Central America
Wait…do we want the activity to go down at 1 in the morning? That could be 8 for others…
That is why this message was to the night owls and early birds. I’m not expecting anyone to stay up. I’m hopping to bring in more people that are active during this time. Some people are actually awake during that time period. You do not need to change your sleep schedule for this. I’m just wondering what we can do to keep the activity going. Also, most americans are asleep just not the night owls. I’m catering only to the group that is actually awake.
Lol it’s okay! I get what you were saying. It was completely reasonable if I had been asking people to stay up longer. You did nothing wrong with what you said.
It would be interesting to set up something like this for people who tend to be on in off-hours. I think that a lot of threads tend to keep things open for 24 hours for this reason, but then most of the activity happens during the day, when the original poster is online.
Always hard to figure out what topics people are going to want to talk about.
I definitely agree that not a whole lot is happening during that time period, even for the amount of people online.
I’m working on an interactive murder mystery game for the forums. I’m hoping to peak the interest of others with this sort of story making.
This is very true for most people. It takes someone just making random topics for others to jump on the debate wagon though. Still trying to figure a better way to go about fun debates at late night times.
I’m usually on around that time because I’m working on tasks plus updating my threads but I always feel like there is something we could contribute to making people more active. I’m wondering if we can get the late-night owls and early birds of that time to be added to a tag so that we can alert them to activities during that time.
Yep, it’s based in the Victorian era with supernatural ties.
Yeah, I’m just not sure if anyone would actually say yes. I would literally need to watch the who’s on section to tag people to see if they would want to be in the tag. It’s not a hard thing to do but it’s the only thing I think will work.
