As he talked with Amani, Tae could finally feel himself relaxing. That is, until the faint sounds of something happening outside infiltrated the room. “Yeah, I did.” He responded, confirming that she wasn’t hearing anything. He followed her as she stood up and walked to her door, though he moved much slower and when she stepped outside, he leaned against the wall.
When he got outside the door, he could see where the noise they heard was coming from - a girl, who looked very out of place, and a guy who seemed to be barely alive. He looked between the two of them, deciding that it was definitely not the girl who had done this to him. As he looked at them though, he realized that he recognized the clothing the guy had on. “I think that’s the guy Vinnie was initiating.” He explained to Amani, answering her question about the slumber party. She shrugged and was ready to leave but Tae gently grabbed her arm. “Amani, we should help them.” He insisted, looking her in the eyes.
