“What do you think? Participating in the hunt” The tone of her voice–the way she had conveyed this, was matter of fact In a manner that assumed Dominic’s stupidity, because why would he ask such a question? What else could she be doing? Participating in the hunt, trying to find clues, and not desiring to run into her ex boyfriend who had shattered her heart into pieces. She had loved him, oh God, she had loved him, and she had never loved anyone quite like she did him and that had been her biggest mistake. Love, it seems, it just never works. Such a fooling thing it is, to fall in love, that is.

She thanks the heavens she was sick during that time, Ill and bedridden, and out of school, because if she had never been sick, she would never have found out how much of a traitor he was. And yet, here he stood, accusing her of doing something to him, even when doing that time, when she had found out, she wished she could have harmed him, but she was still such a child–held back by immature feelings. “What I did to you?” She sneered, her voice incredulous , who wouldn’t be after hearing such a foolish take? “What about what you did to me?” She asked, her voice sounding more hurt than she intended. She wanted anger, not hurt, because she didn’t care for him anymore–that was true, but the past, the mention of it, the memories and the emotions she felt back then seemed to still be installed deep in her mind. She blinked, when he had told her, he was the only that knew about ‘that’, what was that? The only thing she remembered him telling her was about his magic and other things, in which she had never told anyone, after all that would mean she would have to confess to a lot of things too. “Told what?”

Then;

He had began walking towards her, approaching her, taking step by step closer to her and she had told him to step back, because he did not need to see the way her traitorous heart still beat, the way he hands still shake and at that he had clenched his trembling hands. Thrown her words back at her, and asked her if she was scared, disgusted and was it because he was like him and the answer was yes, he was everything Amani had thought he would never be. Once he had been here saint, her angel, her Dom–that was, of course, when she was blind. Now, he was her nothing, just a pile of filthy wreckage that caused a storm in her mind.

She didn’t want to see him anymore, she wanted to forget about him, there was no point in remembering a man like him. If people thought she was so evil, then Dominic was way worst. Fortunately and both unfortunately, he had told he they would talk later and her eyes widened, she did not want to spend anymore time with him. Yet, she watched him walk past her to rejoin his team, and she let out a sigh.
