Nonfiction vs Fiction

NONFICTION
Non-fiction is anything written that is based on real people, facts. or events that happen in the real world.

FICTION
Fiction is anything written that is not based on real people, facts, or events that happen in the real world.

There is also historical fiction which is based on real people, facts, or events that happened in the world. You can change the dynamic of the story by adding fictional parts to it. Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter is a historical fictional novel. I like reading fiction mainly due to the fact it can molded into something new. I have read some nonfiction books but they really never catch my interest in general.

What type of fiction do you like? If Fiction, why? If Nonfiction, why? If both, why?

Ooh. I am writing a historical fiction. :see_no_evil:
I do really lean to fiction though. I don’t think I have read a non-fiction book, unless it was for school.

Same here, I’m trying to write a story based during the American Revolution but I usually only read fiction too.

I mostly read fiction but I want to get more into nonfiction as well. The hard part of reading nonfiction for me is it gets boring and the facts don’t stick in my brain. :joy:

But there are some non-fiction books that are written very well! I really enjoyed this one: American Kingpin : The Epic Hunt for the Criminal Mastermind Behind the Silk Road because it read more like a fiction book. :stuck_out_tongue:

I like both, though fiction will always win if you let me choose just between the two xD the only nonfiction I read is history, which always will interest me

Now they are both good for different purposes so it is hard to put them against each other.

Unless you think of the fact that some people don’t like fiction. Some people don’t like non-fiction :eyes::eyes::eyes:

So with all these preferences, all this thread is really asking is what do you prefer and why?
