Jacob Farrell
Jacob stared outside the window. There were trees. Trees. And more trees. He sighed lightly as he turned back to inside the packed carriage. It was full of people who were traveling to Mystveil as well. The only difference between him and the other people was that they were servants and he was a noble. Well, at least he thinks he is. Sometimes he wonders if his family got him at a buy one get one free deal.
He sighed again and the carriage stopped. The door opened and all the people started to get out. Of course, no one thought that the nobleβs son should go first. The last person was even about to close the door on him. He caught the door and the person looked back.
βSorry, I forgot you were there.β They said as they left.
Just like everyone else in the world. He climbed out of the carriage and turned to grab his stuff as the carriage suddenly started moving. He blinked in surprise, but before he could react the carriage was long gone.
You know, Iβm not even bothered by that anymore. He didnβt even try asking the carriage to stop as he walked toward the building in front of him. It was tall and magnificent, but it was full of people who would forget about him in the drop of a hat. He stopped and on a whim decided not to go inside. Instead he walked towards the fields. It was a bad idea of course, but he didnβt care.
Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a body under a tree. He nearly tripped in his step and his face paled. He carefully approached the body and picked up a stick in case the person was alive. This wouldnβt be much of a weapon, of course, but it was better than nothing.
He poked the person with the stick. βAre you dead?β He asked.
