TL;DR: In order to win the best picture oscar (other categories are not included), the film must have a diverse cast and crew. In effect, this means that the production will need to have members from marginalized groups (which include many different PoC groups, women, and LGBTQ+ people) in different areas of film production (major actors, interns and apprentices, people who work in audience development, and significant crew members) in order to win the best picture oscar.
