Overcoming Writer's Block Tips

Hey everyone we all have some trouble with writer’s block whether we are RPing, Writing Stories, Writing Episode stories and all that good stuff, as well as writer’s block for schoolwork. Here are some helpful tips to think about to try

  1. Write 50–70 words on the first thing that pops into your head from a random word (ex: “silver,” “departure,” “sun, egg”). No overthinking allowed.

  2. Make a moodboard or a playlist for your story or character.
No pressure to write — just vibe and gather inspiration.

  3. Stuck typing try to switch to handwriting, voice-recording, or even texting yourself. Sometimes your brain needs a different “shape” to work.

  4. Draft a scene where your character makes the wrong choice at every step.
Mistakes = conflict = drama = new ideas.

  5. Close Your Eyes and Type Blindly- Don’t look at the screen while you write for 1 minute. It forces you to focus purely on ideas, not perfection.

Some are just for fun

Whenever I have an idea what to write, but think it’s bad, not believable, far-fetched or just plain boring, I consult ChatGPT and give some context of the story and then the idea at the end. Chat will either respond praising the idea or telling me things that need to be changed. If my idea is praised, it’s my lack of motivation at fault, and if Chat suggests changes I try and modify the idea or form a new one that might be better.
Often when I lack the will to write some of it is helped by Chat by just bouncing ideas off of each other with a machine.
