What are the differences between promoting your story on Episode and promoting your story on Wattpad?
I guess for Episode stories, it might be a bit easier because you can just take scenes of your story and share them on Instagram 
But what else is different?

I think that Wattpad has a bigger community, so it’s easier to promote there.

Well, it was fairly easy to promote on until the forums were killed off. Now, I have no idea how I’m supposed to promote my stories other than submitting to official (ambassador) profiles but that only really works when your story is complete
I mean, for wattpad, they have a bigger community and more users so it would be easier to promote, until they closed the forum.
On the other hand, you can always promote your episode stories on the forum. Either way, they can promote it on instagram.
