Reading & Book General Chat 📚🌟

Okay…
How are you holding up? :sob:
I started this series YEARS ago (only got to book two, it literally shattered me) probably read it waaaaaaay to young

Is it worth restarting?

It’s been soooooo good so far
And it’s really gotten even better as the series has gone on. (Though I still need to buy the last book and last novella)

I’ll take that as a sign to restart :see_no_evil::raised_hands:
How many books are there? 9? 10?

6 full books plus 5 novellas (which are only like 75-ish pages each)

Then I think there’s a spinoff series starting with the first book coming out next year

Ooh, are you going to start it?

I’m looking forward to it. It’s on my list of books to buy when it comes out. It looks like it’ll probably be pretty good.

I don’t know why but this whole page is making me crack up
Book: Dreadful Sorry
Short summary: Seventeen-year-old Molly’s recurrent nightmares become waking visions after she nearly drowns at a party

The page (spoilers?)

He stripped off his shirt and jumped into the pool in his shorts. The water slapped out onto the tiles. Molly shuddered

I’m just imagining a penguin flopping into the water

" jump in. You can do it."
“No.” Why didn’t she just walk away?

You still have time to walk away

He was standing in the water at the four- foot marker, his hair curling wetly over his forehead, his eyes somber

I don’t know why his eyes are somber when nothing sad is happening lol. Plus it sounds like he’s just staring into space.

He splashed some water onto her feet. " last chance." When she didn’t respond, he began the song again. He sang softly, gently,

I’m not sure why he’s singing a random song in a party full of people, especially since he knows shes scared of this song but doesn’t know why

Anyways, I’m hoping the book picks up soon.

Chill Out Swimming GIF by Pudgy Penguins

Well, the author could have meant it to mean serious rather than sad. Or perhaps just dark and void of colour, which would make sense if he is meant to be staring into space? (shrug)

He’s drunk?

(fingers crossed)

I need to desperately get into reading again, I haven’t touched a book in weeks… I’ll update as soon as I have decided what will be the book!

I’m trying to finish three books out of this pile before January

I’ve calculated, if I read 25 pages a day (from each) I should be able to finish them in about 16 days (give or take for some of them)

I’ve… almost made peace with not reaching my reading goal
I can make do with being ten books behind, but more than that I still feel a little disappointed :sob:

And when I set the goal I did tell myself reading was for fun, and it still is, but compared to phone time? I’m sad I’m this behind (especially compared to other years)
Anyways, yeehaw and happy reading :cowboy_hat_face:

Creepover: You Can’t Come in Here!
Graphic Novel By P. J Night

Summary

Emily Hunter loves hanging out with her new neighbors. From their decked-out rec room to their almost-professional guitar playing, Drew and Vicky Strig are super cool.
The only bummer is that Drew and Vicky are homeschooled and Emily’s other friends haven’t gotten to know them yet. So Emily comes up with a plan for everyone to meet–a big party and sleepover at her house!
But as Emily gets ready for the party, she begins to wonder about Drew and Vicky. They won’t let Emily into certain rooms in their house. And a wolf howls on their lawn every night. Is it only Emily’s overactive imagination or are the new neighbors more than just a little strange?
