i am concerned about how the rp community uses **unsourced** art as face claims. As far as I know, these forums are supposedly a place to lift up creative people, and while focused on writing, there are still visual artist spaces. So it’s kind of disappointing how RPers will go and use art without crediting the artists, which is disrespectful to them and does a big damage to any and all online art communities. It takes five minutes or less to do a google reverse search to find the source of an image. The bare minimum artists deserve is credit for what they have created.

I kinda understand your point. I get why drawn pictures should be used with credit when used as an official fc for a roleplay, but in the examples you linked, they were mostly just bouncing ideas of fcs. Like they were more being shown than used. A lot of them also had watermarks on them, which, wouldn’t that be enough to source the artist? Or even, would just linking the place on Pinterest that they found the image be sufficient?
Idk, to me, just posting pics from Pinterest of someone’s drawing seems fine (just reminds me of people with drawn pfps from pininterest), but including credit to the pictures when it becomes an official faceclaim would be a good idea imo yeah.
We do want these forums to be welcoming to people all creativities, including artists, yes so thanks for bringing this potential issue up vibe
