As the sun started setting in the sky, Cali sat around outside of the small pub with a large mug in her hands. She'd heard that some of the flowers in the forest would glow during the nighttime, so she hoped that by setting out shortly after sunset would help her to be able to find the cuddly toy she was looking for. Her friend El had accidentally dropped the toy while being chased through the forest and was hoping that Cali would be able to find it for her easily. Cali finished her drink and decided to set off quickly, knowing only vaguely where to go. The forest was rumored to be enchanted at night, with all manners of strange things coming out after dark but magical things as well. She grabbed her dagger and carried it next to her, just in case it would become necessary.
Interestingly enough, the forest seemed incredibly quiet as she first walked in. No monsters, magic, or anything out of the ordinary for a forest was in sight. Cali dismissed most of the discussion about the forest to rumors, and standard large beasts such as bears that could attack travellers in the night. She followed along the main path, walking towards an abandoned cottage where El remembered leaving the cuddly toy. As Cali approached the cottage, she saw some flowers glowing in the moonlight creating a path leading away from the cottage. Curious, she followed the path and wondered how the flowers were glowing.
After walking along the path marked by the flowers for a while, Cali found it abruptly ended at a tree. The dim light from her lantern showed the tree having incredibly dark wood and a complete lack of leaves. High up in the branches, she could barely make out the silhouette of something strange up in the branches. She wanted to be able to shake the branches to get the item down without having to climb, but the item seemed to be too high up to be able to easily access. Hanging the lantern off a branch, Cali started to climb the tree towards the item. The tree branches didn’t seem particularly safe to climb on, but as she got closer she become more convinced that the cuddly toy had somehow ended up in this tree. Carefully making sure to only pick the largest branches to minimize the risk of them breaking, Cali climbed up to the branch that the toy was on.
She carefully climbed out to where she saw the toy and found a rather large nest below the toy, although nothing seemed to be in the nest at the moment. She quickly grabbed the toy and climbed down as quickly as she could, hoping that she wouldn’t be noticed before whatever lived in that tree came back. She grabbed her lantern and carried the toy back along the path, which was still fairly easy to follow. The toy thankfully seemed to have been unharmed, but screeches in the air made it seem like Cali had been noticed by something. A fairly large bird descended and tried to pry the toy away from Cali. Already prepared for the threat of something, Cali quickly pulled out her dagger to fend off the bird and ran hastily back towards safety.
She holed herself up in the abandoned cottage until daylight and began her walk back to town the next morning, thankfully having found the cuddly toy.

okay some fun facts
uhhh i got into RPing when i was 17? I was on vacation from uni and had nothing to do, and i had a forums acc since i intended to write a story (yeah haha like that’d ever happen) but well, i got caught up with RPing and fell in love with it
genres that i vibe with? i ADORE scifi! and anything that has to do with mysteries or puzzles! give me something to keep my brain working for hours pls

Yeah, Exousía. That’s actually really awesome. I think you left before I joined, or became some RPer urban legend by then. I always loved reading the playstyle of that RP and used many elements to influence how I start mine.
So thanks, in a way, for being there first. It’s cool talking to you after all these years
