Interesting yeah, that’s a fair point. In general missing any passion would just make such a bland life…
I’m getting more and more fascinated by this RP!

eheheheh good :3
This is true.
^^^ This thought. (thumbs up)
YAY!
Font update for the header ~ so the lab background isn’t too misleading hehe and more info coming soon
I’m excited for it!
I have to ask, has anyone else tried to use Chat GPT to write a rp response? Or at the very least give ideas on how to respond? I know we’ve messed around with it in the Blue Royalty rp a little just for the hell of it and while it’s not completely accurate, it does make some interesting responses.
The AI has proved to be very interesting, specifically regarding analyzing the tone of what you write and even somewhat copying it if it can?
Just curious
Also here’s a short story I had the AI write - and I still think it’s crazy that it wrote this under a minute:
Once upon a time, there was a vampire named Vlad who lived in a castle atop a misty mountain. Vlad was known throughout the land for his love of luxury. He had exquisite taste in fine wines, expensive clothes, and rare artifacts. But there was one thing that caused him great consternation: every time he drank blood, he left behind a messy trail of red stains that were difficult to clean up.
Vlad had tried everything to solve this problem. He had experimented with different cleaning agents, hired servants to do the work for him, and even considered changing his diet. But nothing seemed to work. The stains persisted, and with them, his frustration.
One day, Vlad was in the nearby village when he stumbled upon a curious object: a sponge. He had never seen one before and was fascinated by its ability to soak up liquids. Intrigued, Vlad decided to bring the sponge back to his castle and experiment with it.
As he tested the sponge’s capabilities, Vlad discovered that it was perfect for cleaning up his bloodstains. He could now enjoy his meals without worrying about the mess. Vlad was delighted. He had finally found a solution to his problem.
Over time, Vlad became more and more reliant on his sponge. He would take it with him everywhere he went, even bringing it along on his nightly hunts for fresh blood. Whenever he drank from a victim, he would quickly pull out his sponge and clean up the stains before they had a chance to set.
But one fateful night, as Vlad was feasting on a young maiden, he became so engrossed in his meal that he accidentally dropped his precious sponge. In his hunger-fueled frenzy, he didn’t notice it was missing until it was too late.
Desperate to find his beloved sponge, Vlad searched high and low throughout the village. He asked everyone he met if they had seen it, but no one had. He even offered a reward for its safe return. But despite his efforts, the sponge was nowhere to be found.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, but Vlad couldn’t shake his obsession with the lost sponge. He grew weaker and weaker without his trusty cleaning tool, and eventually, he succumbed to his own hunger and thirst. His obsession had been his undoing.
And so, the vampire Vlad met his untimely end, all because of a simple sponge. His legacy lived on, however, as the villagers would tell tales of the vampire who was so obsessed with cleanliness that he carried a sponge with him wherever he went.
Ooh that’s an interesting idea actually, I’ve never thought of doing that. To be fair, I have no idea how to even access that site because it asks me for my phone number
also, creative solution to the vampire sponge thing
@bisou giggling
personally, i’m not a big fan of AI, from the little i know (@/winterswhite knows far more about the topic than me) it’s a bit scary and as a creative i don’t think i’ll be using it anytime soon
but i have to admit, it’s interesting to see how much it’s developed
i do wonder if it’ll get to a point where AI can pass the Turing test (or has it gotten to that point already?)
Woah, that’s both incredible and scary that AI did this.
So an update, I tried out the AI and it’s actually so good at giving ideas for character development. It seems to remember everything I tell it about a character, as long as it’s clearly written and inside the chat
It’s a really cool site
I’m not going to lie, I even use it in medical school and it’s scary accurate sometimes
That being said, you don’t always want to trust it when it comes to school
but for the most part, it’s pretty cool!
I haven’t tried to use it for school yet, but I don’t learn in English so I never had a need for the essay part. I heard it’s not entirely accurate when writing?
ah yes - I don’t use it for essays. More if I’m confused about a subject, I ask it to break it down for me in terms of what my board exams would ask.
But essay wise - it’s not bad for templates (especially email writing)
yeah you have to be very careful with that
one of my professors told us that he made another class of his ask this AI about the text they were reading, and the task was to correct what the AI said and make an essay out of the corrections
Ohh I see, that sounds pretty useful! I just heard english teachers complaining about students using the AI for essay writing but I’m not sure how well that will work
One thing to mention about ChatGPT is that the essays are extremely surface level. The level of analysis and contextual connections are weak. It does not do well. Creatives are not in trouble, however, it is constantly developing.
ChatGPT is fully self-learning. After the first 4 days, it rapidly adapted to provide stronger answers. Now, initially, ChatGPT was scoring on the lower side of the LSATs [believe below 10th]. 4 months have gone by, GPT-4 [after 4 months of constant user interaction], it scores up to the 90th. Insane. So it’s not to say it will not improve creatively, but atm, nothing to worry about.
Also, this is quite easily comparable to when the camera was initially developed. Painters were terrified that they would be out of their jobs–we all know this was not the case. People pay for authenticity. Human touches. Every industry will adapt around it, because you, nor the government, wants unemployment rates to go higher.
ChatGPT also increases efficiency. If you can ask GPT to write out emails for you whilst you work on an essay, on a project, on a deadline, etc., you increase general productivity. It’s better for the economy in this aspect. More gets done with less time, and it’s easier on the worker.
All in all, generally good advancement.
