Some dialogue is from the poem The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe
Some students of both schools were in theatre class practicing for a new play that would happen next week. The students who excelled in the class were casted in the play with students from the opposite school. They were practicing in West Nottingham’s theatre building since it was bigger. The students who weren’t in a scene watching while sitting in the chairs. Some of the students were really new so they didn’t get a part in the play yet.
Luke was casted as the lead male actor and Blaire was casted as the lead female actress. They were both love interests in the play. Luke wasn’t sure if it would be awkward for Wren to see him kiss Blaire on stage but he figured it wouldn’t be a big deal since she knows they are acting.
He was holding the script in his hands while the teacher told them to recite their lines for the last scene.
“Other friends have flown before—On the morrow he will leave me, as my Hopes have flown before.” Blaire said, with a strain on her face. She rested the back of her hand on her forehead.
Now it was Luke’s turn again. He put on a deep frown and made his voice deeper. “Wretch. thy God hath lent thee—by these angels he hath sent thee. Respite—respite and nepenthe from thy memories of Lenore! Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!”
“Nevermore.” Blaire spoke back.
Luke looked up with dramatic intensity and kneeled down. “Nevermore? Oh, You must depart from me Lenore.” He raised his hand up to her and she walked up to him and lifted him up by his shoulders. “Nevermore.” Then she pressed her lips onto his. They both kissed, sealing the last scene of the play.
“AND SCENE!” The teacher yelled out. His wild ginger hair made it even more jarring. Luke jumped up a little. The other students clapped. The scene was over and now Luke left the theatre and waited for Wren. He wanted to go to lunch and tell her all about the play.
