So… some schools have been closing because of the corona virus. My school hasn’t closed yet but there have been talks about it. We have spring break for a week after friday and then the directors are going to decide whether to close it and do online schooling with us, or to leave it open.
I’m not sure how I feel about schools closing. On one hand I’m all for having a few weeks off from school (even if we have to do some work). But I’m the other I have a sport in the spring season and I really don’t want it to be shut down, which it probably will be if the schools close. Do I think it’s necessary? Maybe. Maybe for our school that is sort of close to Boston. But at the same time it’s a very “farm-town” school, with few people. I think people are focusing on the wrong problems here. I get it if schools/public places are closed but then why am I having a soccer toy in Boston this weekend? Why did my track team have a meet in western mass at Smith College when a student literally had the virus only a week before?
And to all the people buying 500 pounds of toilet paper…
Oh yeah, my question to that- why tho? Like is it the new mask thing? Are you gonna like mummify yourself? Lol. Are they worried we’re gonna run out? Probably not but if we did run out of stuff - you should be more worried about running out of ANYTHING OTHER THAN TOILET PAPER. WHY? JUST WHY?!
Edit: Okay now I’m starting to get it for older people because some people are at serious risk because they know they have compromised immune systems so they want to stay home as much as possible.
Honestly the corona virus isnt bad at all… they just tell people to wash their hands and stay in their own homes… if they arent in hospitals getting treatment, obviously its not that bad.
Well um… not for immune compromised people. Death rate is higher than the flu at this point. We don’t have treatment for it so if you um get sick… yeah you’re just gonna have to deal with it. The reason why we stay home and avoid people is to make sure that we don’t spread it to someone and end up killing them.
The thing is, healthy people and people who treat their body well dont get it…
From what Ive learned and researched, only people who have a bad immune system and older people get the disease…
The death rate may be higher because of how fast it spread but the virus can be contained…
Oh I know, but most people dont die… 125,000 cases and only 4,000 have died. Those people most likely were sick and had other issues with their body before getting the virus
I mean I’m not afraid of it, but I don’t wanna infect someone older or with a compromised immune system. We have a kind of “special” school where you can choose certain days to go. A lot of people there have health issues. So yeah it’d be reasonable to close down schooling. Even if a lot of people are healthy, they could get a mild case and spread it to someone older/weaker.
Even in 5ft snow we still have to go but when theres 1cm of snow the buses are cancelled. My school is actually dumb… they dont stop school for nothinggg
They shut down the schools in my county this past week because some of the patients had children in the schools. We now have 5-6 cases in my county. I’m not sure what will happen in the upcoming weeks.
