Shading and its importance discussion

The shading style I did on this piece was a whim of mine based on manga styles I really liked - and it really ended up working. It’s just an extremely simple hatching style with unilateral lines all running diagonally to indicate darker areas. With very rare areas where there’s some cross=hatching.

It’s actually become my go-to because it looks so slick

I was real happy with this one, I’m super rusty with traditional artwork, but it’s like falling off a bike I guess. Easy to pick it back up again :joy:

Honestly I can’t make any traditional art cause I can’t even draw a somewhat straight line, so really that is amazing work! And yeah, you are right, haha, practice does makes art a whole lot better in general, and you shouldn’t just give up if you fail one time…
