Should pharmacists be allowed to prescribe medications?

I’m not very familiar with this debate, but there are some interesting points on both sides.

Allowing them to prescribe medications could help to improve healthcare access, help ensure patients get the right medication, and take some strain off of other medical professionals. However, pharmacists don’t have the exact same training as other medical professionals, which is a major concern in whether or not they should be allowed to prescribe medications (although they do still have extensive training in medicine).

I think they should be allowed to because they’re just trying to help and they have been trained on what to give people so I don’t think they would purposely give someone the wrong medication. I think :eyes:

I think they should be allowed because they are trained to do so.

If not, what’s the point of pharmacists?

Pharmacists are intended to make and dole out medicines, I believe :eyes:
