As soon as his feet touched the ground, Ethan brought his other hand that was holding the line over to hold the little girl clinging to him for dear life. A gurney was quickly wheeled over to him as well as the girl’s parents coming up close behind. He had set her down on the gurney though she had refused to let go of him, he gently whispered, “Hey, look who’s here to see you?” The little girl’s eyes lit up upon seeing her parents. As the gurney was moved to the ambulance, He had spotted Kendrie in her car with the window rolled down, “Is the kid okay?” Ethan took off his gloves and helmet as he approached the car, “Oh, I don’t know, after all I am just an underpaid doctor, right? with a longer shift. It’s not like I passed rigorous physical training and medical testing. I just do what I see on those firefighter shows, ya know? Wave the flashlight in their eyes for no reason, cause it’s not like brain trauma or spinal injuries ever killed anyone.” He recalled what she had said the previous night about his chosen occupation. It did hurt a bit, however, he wasn’t the type to cry over it, with his busy schedule there probably wouldn’t have been enough time to do so anyway.
