Lorenzo smiled as Chloe talked when he was done texting. “Yes baby. Of course we can talk. I will talk to you anytime.” He smiles at her as he sits at a table in the courtyard. “Have a seat baby.” He said to her and reached his hand out to hold hers.

Ezra had taken a car three trains and a bus to get from his house to the school and all he had with him was a backpack a duffle bag and a suitcase. He was excited to be here but a little nervous at the same time. When he arrived at school he headed to the assigned room he had read off of his schedule about a million times on his way there. He smiled as he looked at the name. He didnt want to get his hopes up but he was really hoping it was the Braxton Casey he had known for years. The door was closed when he got there so he knocked with the toe of his boot. He hoped someone was in the room to open the door.

Brex didnt mind that Kayden was a little shy especially because it seemed rather easy to pull him out of his shell at least when it was just the two of them. Brex could be a bit of a loner himself so he could sympathize with it and honestly with everything Kayden had been through Brex was shocked he opened up so easily. “Thats really cool though. I mean Im glad you feel like that with Finn. Thats great maybe we can have them both over sometime to hang out or something.”
That was when Brex heard a knock on the door and he looked at Kayden confused. “You expecting someone?” He asked before walking to the door and opening it. He was shocked to see Jasper there with some other guy. “Hey Jasper I was actually just talking to my roommate about you. Whats up?”

Madi listened to both Leo and Killian and they both said that they aren’t official just seeing where things take them. Leo also asked what she meant by that statement. “Ah well i’m glad that you guys are taking a chance and seeing what will happen. And when we were together there was a day you just got out o class walking to your dorm which I was already in. Madi then looked more at Killian this time instead of both of them so she can respond to him. “Yeah I miss seeing you around to Killian and Leo. We used to be like the three musketeers practically, but the break up happened and then soon it was summer and we all left, I’m sorry I was not good at keeping on contact with you guys.”

Brex and Kayden kept talking and dancing a little more but Kayden stopped dancing since he had enough and was bad. “So can I ask you either what is your dad like? Or what is your favorite place you been to and seen? I don’t want you to feel uncomfortable with any questions so answer whichever or both.” Kayden knew that Brex didn’t seem like he wanted to talk about his dad or whatever but he figured since he doesn’t know Brex or is dad’s band maybe he will feel a little better about it and if not then Kayden will know not to ask many questions regarding his travels and what his dad is like or how he really grew up.
Kayden talked to Brex about Finn and how he made him feel and Brex said that it was good that I felt like that with Finn and that sometime we could all hangout. It made Kayden a little nervous but he knew Finn and he knew Brex and knew Finn would be there for him if he got nervous, he just did not know Jasper, but from what Brex said about Jasper he felt like Jasper is a good person. “Yeah that could be fun. What would we do though do like dinner and a movie or go into the town nearby?” Next thing that Kayden knew someone knocked on the door and Brex answered it and Kayden heard it was Jasper so he looked quickly and saw Finn and walked over. “Oh hi Jasper, I’m Kayden and hey Finn.”

Braxton was unpacking his duffle bag when he heard a knock on the door. He had already unpacked his suitcase. His backpack sat beside his desk and his dance duffle sat there too. He went to the door and opened it. He saw before him his dance friend Ezra. “Hey Ezra man. What’s up? I’m so glad it was you. I saw the name and hoped but was kind of scared and nervous too. Want help with your bags?” He asked with a smile.

Camilia was sitting in her dorm room listening to music. She hadn’t seen her roommate yet today. She heard a knock at the door. She got up and opened it. “Hey Teo. What’s up?” She asked with a smile. She was so ready to meet someone. She loved talking to her twin and all but she wanted someone to date.
Leo stood there shocked as Madi talked. “Ah well i’m glad that you guys are taking a chance and seeing what will happen. Finn walked with Jasper to Kayden and Brex’s room. He was excited yet nervous. He took a deep breath as Jasper knocked on the door. It seemed it took them forever to come to the door. Brex walked over first. Finn looked at him “I’m Finn.” he smiled at Brex. Then Kayden walked over. He felt the butterflies in his stomach. “Hey Kayden” He said as he smiled at him. He wanted to say anything else. He wanted to call Kayden a pet name but wasn’t sure if Kayden would like that in front of the guys. He waited for them to either tell them to leave or invite them in.

She could tell that he was getting ready to hear all this stuff and she honestly was getting ready to tell him as well since she never told him. It was easy telling Adrian since they both got mad and she does not really know her where Lorenzo knows her and her family. “Well my parents called me names and belittled me. If I got a higher grade then my sisters on something they would be so proud of them and when I share I got an A they would say how disappointed in me they are and how I needed to study harder and and should have done better. They called me a disappointment quite a few times and dumb. My parents told me in front of my sisters that I am not going to achieve anything in life and how I belong in the streets and that I needed to do better. This is all when I was dog good and what they wanted of me before I stopped listening and did my own thing. They called me ungrateful and eventually my sisters told me everyday how much I am of a disappointment and how they are better than me. My parents in sisters basically belittled me, looked at me in disappointment and verbally and emotionally abused me.”
“Yes come in. You must be Robin?” He asked as Robin came in. “Yes, I’m Robin.” He walked over to the guidance councelor offering him a handshake. It didn’t escape Robin that most kids wouldn’t immediately go for the handshake but for the chair, but that didn’t stop Robin from doing it. He liked being professional in a situation where he meets with a higher up, it gives him comfort. He then sat down in the chair and said “I know you’ve been informed about my dietary problems. I don’t know what you can do about it, or if you’re willing to do anyhing, but I think it’s a good thing you know.”
Lorenzo listened to Chloe speak. What she said was shocking to him to her. He was speechless at first. “Well I’m sorry you had to go through that. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you. However they shouldn’t have said any of that to you. You are amazing, wonderful, smart and kind. They are wrong about you and they shouldn’t have belittled you like that. That’s not okay in any way. I’m glad you are here with me now baby.” He said as he hugged Chloe tight. “I love you Chloe. I couldn’t imagine how hard that was for you.” He kissed her cheek.

Theo smiled and stood up and shook his hand. He then sat down as well. “Yes I know about it. We will do everything we can to help you. However just let the caferitria works know that you are you and they will have special choices for you.” Theo said as he sat there. He did try to keep thinking of what else he could do for Robin.
He smiled and helped Ezra with his bags. “So how have you been?” He asked as he helped him bring the few bags in. He then went back to finish unpacking. He still had to put up posters and stuff. He put his dance clothes in one draw. He jeans in another and his t-shirts in one. He put his boxers in the other. HE looked in his box of posters. HE put some up. “All done now.” Braxton smiled at Ezra. He then started to fix his bed.

Chloe let’s her man kiss her cheek and he says that i didn’t deserve it and he hugged me tight. She was not sure if she should tell him the rest of it but she knew she needed to. “Thanks baby but that is not all there is more.” Chloe sighs, she hated that memory but she is hoping that the distance will help with her family.
Roux hadn’t expected Piper’s reassuring words, just hearing the word “amazing” made Roux’s heart skip a beat. She felt her cheeks heat up, looking away immediately. She completely missed the “even if you are bluntly honest” part. For once she was grateful for Koda’s impatience, because the sound of his voice had distracted Piper from seeing Roux’s dumb smile. She cleared her throat, shouting back, “Just wait a moment! Geez.”
As soon as she finished picking out an outfit, she quickly got dressed. She slipped gloves over her arms, then tied her hair in a low ponytail and finished it off with a bucket hat. While Piper was in the bathroom doing her make-up, Roux sat on her bed and waited. Her eyes were focused on a single point, lost in her thoughts.
It had been a while since she’d seen Piper, and yet her feelings returned so soon. She was her best friend, and one of her only friends at that. If it were any other person, she would’ve never hesitated in expressing her feelings. But when it came to Piper… It was simply different, in a way words couldn’t explain. No effort to bury her feelings had worked for Roux. And even if they’d spent years apart from each other, Roux was sure she couldn’t get her friend out of her mind. Much less when they were about to share a room together.
She sighed, leaning against the wall. Maybe, she could ask Koda for advice. It was about time she stopped making a bigger deal of it than it actually was.
Once Piper was finally ready, the two stepped out the door. Roux had been keeping her eyes away the entire time, refusing to look at her outfit. She knew for a fact she wouldn’t be able to hide her reaction once she saw how beautiful Piper looked.
“So, you two have any clue where we could go? Not gonna lie, I didn’t research anything about the restaurants here, so you’re gonna lead the way.” No point in wasting her brain power memorizing useless information.
Cal laughed. “Oh, I’ve heard. Mostly from the internet or memes. I don’t think that fully sums up the country, though. There’s much more nuance and it’s so fun to learn more.”
They nodded as their roommate handed them the phone, taking it and reading through the page. As they realized it’s long, they stopped. “Actually, could you send me the link so I can read it later? It feels wrong now. I could give you my… What social media do you use?”
When Greer explained to Cal what to do in case of a panic attack, they made sure to mentally note it all down. But they needed more detail, so they know exactly how to proceed if the moment came to it. “Okay, got that. Anything else important that I need to know?”
Cal smiled slightly at Greer’s offer. “Thank you, I’ll keep that in mind. But I’d rather not burden you, there’s too much going on,” they laughed half-heartedly.

Evelyn heart sped up. All of the sudden she wasn’t so sure about this. Why did she think she could do this? Yes, she wanted to know and yes she wanted to just accept the cards she had been handed. But confronting her past? She really wasn’t fond of the idea.

Koda was waiting patiently in the hall bored out of his mind. He loved his girls but that is one thing he hates about females they take so long to get ready, where as guys just throw on something and they are done. Something told Koda that the girls were not just getting dressed but they were talking as well which is why it was also taking a very long time to come out of the room. After what seemed like forever both girls came out and then Roux asked if they had any clue where they could go to eat. “Girl we just got here today you think we have any idea on where to go? Maybe go to the cafeteria or see of there is a town or city nearby?”
Koda waited for Piper or Roux to close the door and lock it up so they can go. He has not even been to his room yet but all his stuff was in the girls room and he was going to bring them up later. Maybe if he picks up a lot of stuff and shows how strong he is Roux would like it and be impressed which could be a bonus for him as she would be more likely to say yes to a date if he asked her. “Pipes any idea on where you want to go?”

By the time Adrian came to his room, Lorenzo was already asleep. He carefully snuck to the bathroom, making sure not to wake him. He didn’t even want to think of what would happen in the morning. For all he knew, this was the last night they were friends. Adrian took a long shower, even put his clothes in the washer. Yet nothing got rid of the disgusting feeling of the alcohol and the drink over his clothes.
The entire night, Adrian could barely sleep. His head was pounding and his thoughts were racing. He’d spent hours turning around in bed, unable to get the conversation with Chloe out of his mind. He only stalled and stalled going to sleep. Just the thought of Chloe telling Lorenzo everything made him sick. How could he have acted so irresponsibly? His reputation was about to be ruined and he’d be powerless to stop it. He was supposed to forget his problems, yet he’d only made them worse. There was no escape. Through the silence of the room, his thoughts only got louder. He almost wanted to just get up and return back home. It wasn’t even certain which option was worse anymore. His parents, the source of all his stress and madness? Or the school, his former escape that he’d ruined with his carelessness?
As his drowsiness slowly took over, he thought back to what Chloe said in the end. She wanted to try and be friends, to forget the argument they’d had. Adrian was so overwhelmed by his own emotions, and the thought of some stranger seeing him in that state — he needed to leave. Should he have said something different? To try and make amends, even though she’d seen a less than perfect version of him? That wasn’t supposed to be him. Nobody was supposed to know how he really is. If only there was a way to make her forget everything. And to think she was even willing to help him. It made him feel so small and pathetic. Adrian could never accept help from someone else, what would his parents think? He wasn’t good enough to achieve anything on his own.
As daytime approached and the sun peeked from the horizon, he’d finally become tired enough to fall asleep.
Current evening
The next morning, well, evening to be precise, Adrian could barely drag himself out of bed. His pounding headache had only gotten worse after sleeping. By the time he woke up, Lorenzo had left the dorm and the sun had already begun to set. Adrian took his phone from the bedtable, checking the time. If he hadn’t checked the date as well, he would’ve assumed he didn’t sleep at all.
As he sluggishly scrolled through his notifications on the lockscreen, one stood out to him immediately. A text from Lorenzo. As soon as he processed it, his heart rate spiked up and his eyes widened. He didn’t think he’d have to deal with everything so soon.
Hey dude, You busy? Chloe and I was wondering if you could hang out.
Adrian immediately sat up, rubbing his eyes. He reread the text again, making sure he saw it correctly.
Chloe. And Lorenzo. They wanted to hang out with him. Today.
That was very soon.
He sighed, his fingers shaking as they moved across the keyboard.
Very busy, actually. I’m going to be busy for the next few months and years and decades and never text agai…
Delete. He couldn’t send that.
Adrian laughed bitterly to himself. He locked his phone and threw it on the bed. He’d respond later. For now, there had to be a way to take his mind off things, forget everything again. With the side effects from the party, drinking was out of the question. Maybe a walk would help clear his mind.
He stood up and opened his closet, looking through his options for something to wear. After a short 60 whole minutes, he’d finally decided. He got ready for the day, before finishing his outfit off with sunglasses and leaving out the door. As he stepped out in the hallway, he looked around to make sure Lorenzo wasn’t nearby. And once he was certain, he swiftly made his way out to campus.
Adrian wandered around aimlessly for a while. Never in his three years at the academy did he think to take a walk around the campus before. Just taking time to observe his surroundings and learn about the layout of the school. To enjoy the peaceful nature of the countryside; the forest, the lake.
And in fact he was right to never attempt. Because it was the most boring thing he’d ever done. At least, it helped his headache a bit, though he could still feel the effects. After half a circle, he returned back to the center of the campus.
Though it was night, there were still students gathered around the area. Some were simply talking and hanging out, some made their way back to their dorms. Adrian turned his head down as he walked. He wasn’t up to having another conversation, he knew it wouldn’t go well in his state. He slipped his sunglasses over his eyes and made his way to an isolated bench. There weren’t many people nearby, he doubted anyone would pay him attention.
He leaned on the backrest, turning his head up. The sky was clear and all the stars were visible. It was an unusual sight for someone used to the city. As sad as it sounded, it was only something he could see in pictures. If only he’d taken a camera with him to the academy. Or at least taken his phone from his dorm room. Well, it didn’t matter. The sound of crickets filled the air, as a gentle breeze blowed through. Adrian sighed and closed his eyes. For a moment, he was at peace. Lorenzo and Chloe didn’t exist, and neither did his parents.
But from the distance, he heard footsteps against the concrete. He opened his eyes briefly. Before he could turn his head down, he saw a shadow towering over him. And soon enough he noticed a familiar face — it was Izzy. One of his… Acquaintances. It seemed he couldn’t escape socialization after all.
He put his glasses on the top of his head, faking a smile. “Oh, heyyy! How’s it going?” His eyes were still a bit red, and his face twitched slightly as he struggled to hold the smile. He hoped she wouldn’t notice.

Where Robin is confused is that some German surnames acquired an American pronunciation so when it comes to a surname that looks German on paper, the pronounciation could be anybody’s guess. That is why he had to ask, knowing it could be either way. “Anyways, that you for trying Mr. Halstead, but there is no need. My parents and my pyschiatrist both know indulging me won’t help me in the long run, so adding this job on top of the cooks other jobs would not be only too indulgent for me, but it would be too much for them to do, and too much to ask for. My father wants something that might infuriate them still, but not as much as what you suggested. Izzy had been painting outside the whole day, it had been quite a productive day. She had nearly finished her latest painting, one of the very American landscape, yet twisted to represent the colourfulness of Mexican art. As the sun had been setting, she had packed up her painting and tools, ready to return to her dorm. Yet, before could get there, she came across a friend, Adrian. He had been one of the few people at this school who had ever really been nice to her, and she appreciated him for it.
