This guy was being a total d!ck. She didn’t understand why. What did she do to annoy him so bad. Was she to peppy? Was she too nice? What else would she screw up. She wasn’t even sure how to respond to him. She looked at him and rolled her eyes. “Ughh… Thanks I guess. I mean did I do something wrong?” She asked still oh so confused why he seemed to angry and why he was being so mean. She sighed as she looked over to him. “I’m sorry for bothering you or whatever… I don’t usually come up to strangers… however, I figured since I was in a new school… Not knowing anyone really… well, why not try to meet new people.” She looked down in disappointment. She was disappointed in herself more than anything.
Lila stood there head starting to hurt some. This guy said “either way I am sorry mis. Do be careful in the gym. Flying balls tend to happen more often…” This made Lila laugh and giggle. “You are right… Flying balls do tend to happen in gyms. I should know that by now.” She giggled again. She hadn’t laughed like this since that first day with Owen. She did feel drawn to this guy. “I’m Lila.” She said as she offered her hand for him to shake.
Theo read Ace’s text. He thought for a minute. Then he decided to respond.
Well that could work… Are you could come over and drive my golf cart to town and bring me to the hospital… I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to drive since that’s the leg I would use for gas and break.
He rolled his eyes, pushed off the tree and took a step closer to her. This preppy attitude seemed to change within a heartbeat. He leaned over her slightly and scoffed. “have you ever thought that maybe some people just want to be alone, Viper?” he turned and walked off as he did a partial wave. “Pleasure meeting you Diper. Hope you find your way.” he shoved his hands in his pocket as he walked off. He felt the small cans of cat food in his pocket. By now the wet food should be warm enough for the kittens. For the past few days he had been feeding the stray kittens behind the school building by the dumpster.
He rounded the corner of the building and crotched. The kittens were already there waiting for him. He smiled warmly at them. “hey fluff butts. Sorry I’m late.” he took out the can, opened it up and placed it by them. He watched them eat as some meowed at him. He picked one of them up and held it close to him as he gently scratched it underneath its chin.
He looked the message over as he grabbed his first aid kit. “This guy…” he thought again. He placed his phone in his pocket, walked over to his front door. Got his shoes on and left. He walked across the street and up to the front door… he knocked…
Piper was even more shocked when he kept saying her name wrong. “have you ever thought that maybe some people just want to be alone, Viper?" Then he turned and started to walk off as he was saying “Pleasure meeting you Diper. Hope you find your way.” She called after him “It’s Piper!” She then quietly walked behind him following him.
She watched him walk behind the school building and he crotched down. She heard him say “hey fluff butts. Sorry I’m late.” She wondered what he was talking to. Then she heard the meows She smiled as she saw a soft side to this “HARD” guy. “So… The @$$hole does have a heart! That’s a complete shock!” She exclaimed as she finally spoke up.
Lila smiled as the guy seemed just as nervous as she was. Then he finally spoke up “I’m John.” She smiled at him warmly “Well, it’s nice to meet you John. Even if it was because your ball hit me in the head.” She giggled a little then got dizzy and almost fell to the ground.
Theo was sitting on the couch holding pressure still when he heard a knock. D@m that man is fast He thought as he said “Come in Ace, I’m in the living room.” He wasn’t sure why he said his name. He was happy Ace came to his rescue.
As he was scratching the cat’s chin, he ended up plopping down. The kittens continued to eat until the can was empty, before some of them started to demand attention from him with their sharp meows. He chuckled as he placed the kitten down to give the others attention. “Alright. Alright. There’s only one of me and 8 of you guys. Wait your turn.” he laughed as he tired to give them all the scratches they wanted. “I am sorry I am late. I was interrupted by some preppy cheerleader. She was easy on the eyes but seemed too emotional.” he thought back to her. “what did she say her name was? Viper? Hiper? Karper? I don’t know…she was kinda cute though…”
He was about to speak when she looked like she was about to faint. Instantly he reached out and caught her. “I think we should go see a nurse. Or maybe sit you down somewhere. Excuse me for a moment…” he bent down a little and picked her up bridal style. “Bear with me for a moment.” he walked over to the bleachers and sat her down. “wait here, I’ll see if I can find some ice or a nurse.” he offered a small warm smile before running off to find ice or a teacher.
He heard his name and opened the door slowly. He felt like he was intruding but he wanted to help Theo…He walked in, and over to Theo. Forgetting about the front door. He knelt down on the floor and set the kit down. He saw the rag that appeared to have been dyed by the blood. He grind a little. “you know…people tend to notice if they’ve lost this much of blood…” he opened the kit and began to work. Putting ointment on the opened wound, along with gauze and wrapping it tightly to stop the bleeding. “you ready to see a doctor about this?” @ChayChay05 Theo | Lila | Piper
She listened to him talk before she had actually spoke to him. He told the kittens ”I am sorry I am late. I was interrupted by some preppy cheerleader. Lila was in shock when he picked her up bridal style. It felt different… she had never been picked up this way before. However, given her history when he grabbed her she did flinch. He set her down on the bleachers and took off. She just sat there trying to stay awake and alert.
Theo
Theo just looked at him. He watched him work as he talked to Theo. “Well… Honestly, I didn’t even know I cut myself.” He sighed. He had this condition where he doesn’t really feel pain. For some reasons it was a good thing. For others reasons like this it was bad. Then he asked if Theo was ready to see a doctor. “yeah. Let’s go.” He said as he stood up.
He froze when he she her voice… “Fuck” he thought. He cleared his throat and hung his head back to glance at her. He kept a serious face on. “What the fuck do you want? Didn’t I leave you at the tree. Looks like you do know your way around. Or were you after something from the start?” he smirked. He got himself off the ground and straightened himself up. Turning to face her. If she had indeed lied about not knowing the grounds and used it as an excuse to get closer to him…he’d give her what she wanted and turn her away if that was what she was truly after. He didn’t mind giving her a taste if it meant getting rid of her. Despite the fact he did find her pretty, he still didn’t trust anyone…
He took a step closer to her, keeping his eyes locked on hers. “Well? What do you want? Why did you follow me here?”
It took him a few minutes to find a vendor machine, and he bought a water bottle. Thankfully they were always cold. With it in hand, he rushed back to the gym. He looked to the spot where he had sat her and ran over to her with the cold water bottle in hand. As he neared her did he slowed down. He gently placed the bottle where he assumed the ball had hit her. “sorry that took a little while. Hopefully this’ll help? Though we should still go see a nurse? Do you think the nurse is still here after school hours?” he wondered aloud.
Ace helped the man up on his feet and helped him to the golf cart. Once Theo was in, he walked over to shut the front door before getting back to the golf cart and getting himself in the drivers seat. He started the golf cart and off they went. Straight to the hospital. Ace kept his full attention on the road in front of them the whole ride over.
She jumped a little when he spoke. * “What the fuck do you want? Didn’t I leave you at the tree. Looks like you do know your way around. Or were you after something from the start?”* She just stood there for a moment. So being nice was short lived She though as she watched him stand up. Then he said “Well? What do you want? Why did you follow me here?” She sighed… She wasn’t sure how to go about this. “Well, firstly… I really didn’t like how you said the wrong name and then just walked away. So I followed you to tell you my name one last time. Then I saw you actually be nice to something. Which was a shock to me.” She sighed again. “Secondly, everyone can use a friend, or a person to maybe talk to sometimes. At least a person can talk back.” She wasn’t backing down. She didn’t trust people easily because of what happened at her last school.
Lila
Lila couldn’t help but smile some when he came back. He was so sweet it seemed. She was a little skeptical though because of her history. “No worries. Thanks for even helping.” She smiled as she looked at him. Little did she know that she actually had a knot on her head where the ball hit her. “I’m not sure if the nurse is in her office. We might have to get a car into town and go to the clinic or ER there.”
Theo
Theo couldn’t help but look at Ace as he drove. Theo was going in and out of consciousness the ride over to the hospital. Maybe he lost more blood than he thought. How bad was the cut? Theo place his one hand between him and Ace as he tried to hold himself up. He felt himself drifting away into an unconscious state of mind.
He scoffed. “This is ridiculous.” he thought as he pulled out his pack of cigarettes, pulled one out and put the box away. “Could of swarn you said your name was Viper.” he lit the cigarette and took a puff off of it. He had no plans on addressing the whole friend thing. Was she implying that he was lonely? Cause if so…he shook his head and sighed.
He pondered on her comment. “I thought there was some teachers on campus? Is that not the case?” he was genuinely concern. “I can go find one but I don’t want to leave you alone…” he felt like he was caught in a dilemma
He glanced over and noticed Theo seemed to have fallen asleep. He nudged him with one hand while keeping the other on the steering wheel. “Hey man. I need you to stay awake. We are almost there.” he kept this up until he pulled up to the hospital. He hopped out, went around and helped Theo out and helped Theo inside of the building where the nurses saw the state he was in and took over immediately. Leaving Ace in the waiting room.
They walked and she was eating her chips. He could tell she was annoyed at the full thing and thought to himself woman and there stubbornness he couldn’t believe how big of a deal this was t her. “Come on get over it and stop pouting it’s not a big deal seriously this is over a little payment. I’m sure there’s plenty of times you will pay one little time isn’t a big deal as your making it out to be. I get it you want to pay and maybe you like to pay for stuff but what are you going to do if you are in a relationship? Usually it’s either 50/50 or the other person pays. If it’s 50/50 or say the guy or girl wants to pay are you going to make a big deal out of it?”
She continued to munch away at her chips. “If I was in a relationship that would be different…” she trailed off. She glanced around as the continued to walk. “hey…” she suddenly felt a bit sad. But wasn’t sure why. “can you tell me about the person your interested in?” she was feeling curious
As they walked and she ate the chips Lexi commented back on what he said about a relationship. “your right it is different but one time even as friends ok. Sorry if I upset you with that.” . Then she asked him about the person he was interested in. “well I knew her from the last school before coming here. No it was not the one I got expelled from. The three of us are like glued at the hip and best friends. Her name is roux. But I can tell that she doesn’t like me because she doesn’t act it and I’ve seen her eyes wonder to someone else. I just get more of the friend vibe on her end. Plus I don’t want to risk our friendship if she knows I like her and she doesn’t like me back which I know so I’m ok with just being friends.”
She wondered what it must of felt like to be trapped in the friend zone like he was, but he was choosing this for himself it sounded like. “hmmm…” She was feeling depressed… She tilted her head to the side and was trying to think of something to say to left her spirits, but nothing came to mind. @Kate Koda
After he explained what he did she was quiet and basically said hmmm and the stayed silent again. “what? It’s not a bad thing that I’m going to move on and try to find someone that likes me back and we have a relationship eventually if that’s what we both want do we. I don’t wanna pine over someone that’s never going to like me like that. But why were you asking?”
She pondered if she should just outright say she was interested in him but she wasn’t sure if that was a right move. After all they had just met not that long ago. She felt like she had lost her appetite. She sighed, rolled up the open part of the bags and carefully stuffed it in her pocket. She looked over at him. “I’m just curious. Besides I’m sure you’ll find someone who’ll love you back…” she forced herself to smile and look away. She felt like a coward for not saying what she really wanted to. She looked away as the smile quickly disappeared from her face.
Piper felt really defeated. She sighed right back at him. “It”s Piper. You just keep calling me the wrong name. Maybe I should tattoo onto your arm or something.” She giggled when she found her way out. She was furious and wanted to peel back his layers. However, he was being more difficult than anyone she had ever told. He was reminding her of a 2 year old. Oh…
Lila
Lila smiled, “oh yes the nurse lives on campus. I’m just not sure which house is hers. We have parents that sleep in the dorms, most teachers have staffing housing.” She wondered what they might can make it happen.
Theo
Theo hears Ace talk. He really trying hard to stay awake. Theo felt Ace nudge him every-time he would fall unconscious. He felt the golf cart to a stop. As Ace walked around to help him he said “Keep my keys in your pocket sexy.” He said it without even realizing the nurses were taking over to care for him.
He grind and crossed his arm. Before he could say anything , a thought crossed his mind. He smirked, and took another step closer to her, closing the space between them until he had her pinned against the school wall. He did not touch her nor had her physically pinned, just couldn’t back up anymore. “You want your name inked on my body? There is only one way that would happen sweetheart.” he chuckled half-heartedly knowing full well what he was about to say would never happen and there for put an end to this once and for all. “You would have to be my girlfriend.” he joked and walked back over to the kittens. He knelt down and scooped one of them up and began petting it’s head a little. “But we both know that ain’t gonna happen. So I suggest you get use to your pet name…Viper.” he looked back and winked. He really didn’t care about dating anyone, in truth he just wanted to be left alone, but this female seemed determined to be friends with him. And he wasn’t gonna let that happen. Friends end up as strangers eventually. He took another hit of his cigarette.
He wasn’t sure if a solution… “I have an idea. But I would have to carry you again…would you be alright with that? I can carry you on my back if that would make you feel better?”
He watched as the nurses took him away. He went back out, got back in the golf cart and drove it to an actual parking spot before returning back to the waiting room.
Koda heard her say she was just curious and that he will find someone who will love him back. Then she smiled and then turned her head away. “yeah maybe but I’m not really focusing on my love life. When it happens it will happen. It would be nice to have someone but I don’t want to rush or put pressure on myself you know. What about you? Do you have any boyfriends or girlfriends or are you single?”
She tilted her head to the side. “Never really had a boyfriend. But I did tend to get lots of chocolate offers around Valentine’s day but nothing more.” This was probably because her father scared all the guys away back than. But since their family status has fallen, she was sure he’d find a way to scare any guy off. She fell silent again as her mind went back to that horrible day. “besides no one would want me if they knew what I have done…” she sighed. She was probably destined to be die alone. @Kate Koda
Piper got nervous as he walked over and pinned her back against the wall without touching her. However, she didn’t let it show that she was a little scared. All she could think was… Where is Koda Then she heard the talk @$$ speak “You want your name inked on my body? So I suggest you get use to your pet name…Viper.” She thought about everything he said. She hadn’t ever had a boyfriend though. Hell she never has even been kissed. Living her double life that she does… doesn’t leave much time for a boyfriend. She decided to walk closer to him and sit beside him. She wondered if any of the kittens would come up to her. “Well, you never know what could happen in the future.” She said as one of the kittens came over to her and she started petting it.
Lila was dizzy but not dizzy at the same time. Then he said he had an idea. She listened carefully * “I have an idea. But I would have to carry you again…would you be alright with that? I can carry you on my back if that would make you feel better?”* She looked at him. She didn’t mind how he carried her. She would probably still flinch at his touch out of habit. “I’m sure I’ll be fine in a minute, but sure… you can carry me however you want.” She offered only trying to help him help her.
Theo
They rushed Theo into the back. They had to give him some blood, because as soon as they started wheeling him out he was out again. One nurse asked Ace questions like what happened? How many times did he lose consciousness? They rushed him into a room and stitched up his leg after cleaning it good. While they gave him blood. Theo was out the whole time. After a few hours a nurse walks out to the waiting room. “anyone here for Theo Halstead?”
She had been so focused on searching for her goggles, scouring every inch of the bleachers, that she hadn’t noticed the figure watching her. A jolt of surprise shot through her as she turned, the warmth of the girl’s smile . “Wha—“ Eve stammered, her eyes wide as she took in the girl’s friendly demeanor. The shadows cast by the setting sun painted the scene in hues of orange and gold, but all Eve could focus on was the unexpected sense of companionship.
“Uh, I—yes! I mean, I guess I could use some help,” Eve replied, a hint of relief washing over her, mingling with the embarrassment of being caught in her frantic search. She felt the slight flush on her cheeks and instinctively adjusted her ponytail, trying to gather herself. “Sorry, when I’m on a mission sometimes I get a little blindsided,” she tried for an easy chuckle.
