What do you guys think of this Starbucks advert, and apart from “buy our coffee” what do you think it’s trying to say/do?

One the one hand I love it, but on the other hand I always kinda dislike ads including LGBTQ+ because often I feel like it’s commercialized and almost as a ‘Oh, wait, we have to keep this community happy as well so let’s ‘support’ them in an ad’ if that makes sense. But it is true that even a name can mean a lot, but why did he decide to go ahead and say it’s James at the starbucks and not at any of these other moments, I really don’t know tbh…

I’ve been saying that Starbuck don’t care what your name is, they’ll spell it wrong anyway

Hhaha, yeah, that’s true anyway 
Even tho I honestly do belief this ad could actually be someones story as in that at this environment where it is easier to give another name can make someone happy and more confident to actually be themselves.

Well it could be promoting the idea that Starbucks and other fast food places will support you.
