That time of the month and tips

And when you get super sleepy. Ugh! I sleep so much on my last period. It took up almost two days!

Same though and donā€™t get me started on the weird dreams I get, itā€™s way more vivid

According to my Mum the feeling changes each decade or so and in her thirties it felt the worst. I swear everytime I get a bad cramp though I just say ā€œthis is the worst thing everā€ even though in my life Iā€™ve had worse cramp than that :joy:.

My worst one being a few years ago, it was summer and I got such bad cramp I almost fainted but my Mum did first aid stuff so it was all cool.

I first started getting mine in December of the year I turned 12 I was thrilled.

When I get my period, I usually:

  • Sleep for a very long time
  • Go for longer walks
  • Paint my nails
  • Write in my diary as usual
  • Eat certain treats to calm me down
  • Cuddle with my cat as heā€™s aware on when to not annoy me when Iā€™m on my period :joy:
  • Drink tea
  • Limit on my coffee in take because caffeine can make the blood heavy af
  • Drink cranberry juice
  • Take paracetamol or ibuprofen
  • Sleep on my front so blood doesnā€™t leak onto the bed
  • Use wipes

I didnā€™t know you have PCOS. When were you diagnosed with it?

Okay this is a list of things that happen to me on mine.

  • all senses increase
  • my lips and a certain other body part get bigger
  • pain bro
  • sleep becomes weird
  • all sounds annoy me (they annoy me anyway but itā€™s worse on my period)
  • my hair either goes more greasy or more dry
  • my legs hurt

Iā€™m really thinking of getting the menstrual cup! It might be an investment/cheaper than getting tampons all the time

I really donā€™t understand how they work, is it like a filter?

It works like a tampon (it goes right up there) but it collects the blood and then you can just dump it out, rinse and reuse!

Well I donā€™t use tampons so that would be a very big step up

Because itā€™s made of silicone, it moulds to the shape of your body better!

And since itā€™s reusable, itā€™s more environmentally friendly ā€” and cheaper ā€” than pads or tampons

That does sound very efficient

I used to feel that stress. :joy: but when I was 14, i was training to swim professionally and I just had to suck it up :grimacing:

Ohhh gosh Iā€™m glad Iā€™ve never been in that position.

Definitely take your time! And I recommend getting travel tampons to start with. Theyā€™re tiny so theyā€™re less scary

Tbh using tampons is a lot more mentally scary than physically difficult

Yeah I fear Iā€™d get toxic shock immediately

:joy: I get that! Thereā€™s usually a huge warning, though. Headache that clears immediately after you take it out. Toxic shock risk is super low if people just started changing their tampons regularly

My problem being I would very easily forget it was there, Iā€™m a gryffindor but I have the ravenclaw trait of putting work before my health
