What is it?

It’s like a mix of Episode and Wattpad. I’ve written a few short stories but there are decisions that YOU can make to change the plot!

How does this work?

I’ll post a part of the story. Then there’ll be a question and a poll. Depending on how important the question is, I’ll wait longer so some people can vote. Then I’ll post the next part according to what you choose. The first 1-2 questions will decide the genre of the story. Sometimes there’ll be a question to choose the gender of the Ll, but that question will be really obvious. Some questions make the story longer, others make it shorter. Depending on how fast we get some votes, the event can take up to 2 days

You can discuss the story, talk about the plot or what choice would be the best on this thread, but please don’t spam it. I’ll just post the next part of the story as a separate reply.

Some extra information if you're interested

I’ve prepared a few different endings and I don’t want them to be for nothing, so you might get some stories that are similar but have different endings. Don’t worry, I’m working on new stories so it doesn’t get boring!
I tried to write stories in different genres, but it’s a first for me in most of the genres because I’ve only written Drama and Romance until now Additionally, I’ve written most of it while watching TV or late at night, so there might be some mistakes in it…sorryy but I’ve proofread it a few times and let friends read it so I hope it’s at least understandable what I wanted to say even if there are mistakes
I’ll make some polls at the end to find out how much y’all liked the story and if I should keep making this.

You decided to go to college right after school. Although your grades were good, your family can’t afford to send you to a top-ranking university. However, you got a place at a pretty average college not too close to your hometown. That was important to you, you didn’t want to stay close to your family as you need to find your own way now. Lately, things got really exhausting with your parents telling you what to do all the time.

You’re on your way to your new room right now. You’ve got a heavy suitcase and another bag with your stuff. All you could think about on the way here was how you’ll get along with your roommate. Hopefully, she’s nice. You could use some for friends here, you don’t know anybody. But as you open the door to your room, there’s nobody in there. Looks like you have the whole room for yourself! You choose the bed right next to the window and unpack your bag. An hour later, someone opens the door and looks at you shocked. “I’m sorry, I think this is my room” she says. You introduce yourself as her roommate and she tells you her name is Amanda. “It’s my first year at college! What’s your major?”

You tell her that you’re studying Psychology “That sounds interesting! Mine is Political Science.” You both unpack your stuff while telling each other a bit about yourself. Time flies by and soon it’s time to get food. You meet up with a friend of Amanda who shows you where you can get lunch and diner at a good price. After deciding to get pizza, you are quiet until you’ve ordered your food.

“I hate this awkward silence” Amanda’s friend says. You just nod, not knowing what to say. “I need some tea about the people here or I’ll get bored” Amanda says and you roll your eyes. You’re not ready for any drama yet. “I’ve got something for you but it’s not about somebody you know” Amanda’s friend mumbles. Amanda gets excited and looks at you for approval, but you just ignore her and keep eating. “Tell us!” Amanda shouts, making other people look at you. “Did you see the library when you came here? We aren’t allowed to go in to the fourth floor and nobody knows why.” “Oh, I’ve heard about that rule! What do you know?” “There are two opinions on that. Some say that the fourth floor is haunted because someone died there over the summer break. Others believe that they hide magical stuff there and have magic lessons on that floor.” You didn’t really listen to what Amanda’s friend said but you’ve heard a few things. Ghosts? Magic? That doesn’t sound like the drama you know from high school. Amanda tries to get you to say something and stares at you. “That sounds both really amazing! Do you think those stories might be true?”

“Yes, it might be true” you say and finish eating. Amanda seems really excited and her excitement is contagious. She and her friend keep talking about those stories and you try to listen to every detail. Back in your room, Amanda already searches for the next drama to talk about, but you’re still thinking about that library. Maybe you should check it out?

A week later, your college life has finally started and you’re overwhelmed by all the new experiences. However, those stories about ghosts or magic are still on your mind. You’ve decided to go to the library today, just to have a look at it. You’ve asked Amanda to come with you but she just thinks you want to read some books. The library is huge, there are four floors and a cellar. If they had lessons about magic or ghosts, why have them in the fourth floor and not in the cellar? Maybe those stories are really just all made up. Amanda isn’t as amazed by the library as you are, she’s bored and you still haven’t told her why you wanted to come here. After half an hour, she wants to leave. But you want to see what’s on the fourth floor. What will you do?

“Don’t you want to see what’s on the fourth floor?” you ask Amanda, trying to keep her here. She looks at you with a sparkle in her eyes, she’s definitely interested! You look around and head over to the stairs. There, Amanda stops you. “Wait, do you think this is a good idea? I mean, there’s probably a good reason why they don’t want us there. And we haven’t been here for long, what if they expel us?” You roll your eyes and Amanda shrugs. “Call me when you know what’s up there” she says before running away.
Seems like you’re alone, but at least somebody knows what you’re doing. If you need help, you can call Amanda. You take a deep breath and walk upstairs to the third floor. There you check if somebody sees you. Once you’re sure that nobody cares what you’re doing here, you walk upstairs. For now, everything looks normal. However, at the end of the stairs, there’s a closed wooden door. You try opening it but it squeaks and you’re scared that somebody might notice you. You try to hear any noises from behind the door, but there’s nothing. You could try open the door and risk being found by someone or try hiding in the library and wait till everyone else is gone in the evening.

You decide to try it now although somebody might catch you. The door squeaks as you open it slowly. You look inside the big room behind the door and see…nothing. There are no tables, no chairs, no shelves, nothing! You take a step inside while keeping the door open with one hand. The sun shines in through the window and makes the room look really comfortable. Why don’t they put some books up here? Disappointed, you step back and close the door again. Hopefully nobody has seen you. You head back to your room and tell Amanda about what you’ve seen. She’s as disappointed as you are, but then she starts laughing. “Did you really expect a ghost to walk around while it’s still daytime? And lessons about magic would also take place at night because all the students have other classes during the day!” You shake your head. Amanda’s imagination is going crazy. But what if she’s right? You didn’t even stay there for some time or look for a hidden door. You lay down on your bed, trying to get all the thoughts out of your head. A haunted library? Magic classes? It’s just an empty floor, nothing more!
Two days later, you’re still thinking about the fourth floor in the library. In the meantime, Amanda already found about a hundred new stories about your college but you’re not interested in the love life of your professors. Amanda realized that after she tried to tell you some juicy stories about her friend. “Maybe we should go there again so you’ll see that the stories are false” she suggests during lunch. You nod, you need to see this place again or you won’t get it out of your head. Why would they tell you to stay away if there’s nothing wrong with it? Maybe doing some research could help you?

“Let’s do some research before we go there again” you suggest and Amanda agrees. At first, you just look up your college on the internet. You don’t really expect to find a news report about a ghost or something magical going on, but maybe you find something that can guide you in the right direction. Amanda finds a short article about the boy who was locked in the fourth floor over summer break. Apparently, he was in there for two days and didn’t die, so the ghost story might be false. You find something more interesting on a website about witches. You read a blog post about a girl who claimed to be a witch and then disappeared for a year. In the end, she was found again at this college, looking like a normal student. Maybe you can find out her name and see if she’s still here? You tell Amanda about it and she tries finding more information, but it seems like there’s nothing else on the internet. “We could check in the library if there are any books? Don’t all colleges have big history books about how they were built?” Amanda asks. You nod and get your bag.

A few minutes later, you enter the library. Amanda already knows where to find all the history books so you follow her. It doesn’t take her long to find a book about your college. “It will take forever to read that” Sadly, Amanda’s right. You take a look at the chapters, maybe reading just one of them is enough. But which one could tell you more about this library?

You open the book at Chapter 1 and start scanning the pages for anything interesting. On the third page, there’s a picture of the library. Next to it, you read: “The library has three floors. The wooden interior was the most expensive on the whole campus. An anonymous sponsor paid for it on the condition that 20 years after their death, a fourth floor will be added. The sponsor stayed anonymous even after the floor was built. However, the fourth floor will remain empty until the sponsor’s name is revealed.” Amanda looks confused. “That’s all? It’s empty because they don’t know what that person wanted with that floor?” “I think there’s more to it than just that.” You close the book and look around. From here, you have a good view of the stairs that lead to the other floors. Ten minutes pass with both of you deep in thought. You’ve been staring at the stairs the whole time. Now, something odd makes you look around again. You hear the squeaking of a door. “Amanda, did you hear that? Somebody opened the door to the fourth floor!” Amanda shakes her head but you stand up and pull her with you. It’s gotten darker outside. You make your way to the stairs and Amanda follows you. You take a quick look around before running upstairs. Again, you stand in front of the wooden door. After taking a deep breath, you try opening it but it’s locked. Amanda tries as well but nothing happens. Whoever went in there seems to have a key. “Maybe they closed it with magic” Amanda mumbles. “Or the ghost keeps it shut.” You shake your head, you can’t believe this. You came so far and now you can’t get in. Out of frustration, you hit the door twice. Suddenly, the door opens and Amanda hides behind you. You open the door a bit more with you foot and look inside the room. It’s almost completely dark. You take a step closer and hold the door open with one hand. Amanda peeks inside and points at someone walking on the other side of the room. You open the door a bit more and it squeaks again, gaining the person’s attention. “Hey, what are you doing here?!” the person shouts. Amanda hides behind you, but as the person gets closer she takes a step back and then runs down the stairs again. You’re braver and wait for the person to approach you. “I thought I’ve locked the door?” the person says. “Didn’t you hear me break it open?” you say, more confident than you really feel. The guy stand right in front of you now and opens the door so you walk in. Behind you, the door closes again. “So why are you here? Do you want to see the ghost or the magic?” he starts laughing. You’re a bit confused but laugh as well. “No, seriously, what is this here?” you ask. “Didn’t you read it in the big book you’ve found? This is the place for the biggest parties on the whole campus!” You are even more confused, apparently, you’ve read the wrong chapter. He tells you something about parties for the cool and brave kids who dare to break the rules and check out this party of the library. He’s seen you here the last time and kept looking for you. Just a few minutes later, you leave with an invitation to party in two months. You’re disappointed, you’ve expected a better story. As you tell Amanda about it, you start thinking that he might have lied to you. Maybe there’s something, that he just didn’t want you to know.
