Well … There is no way anybody would guess the insanity that is the start of this relationship from the chart I made
I mean they basically first meet when she amputates his leg and he falls for her first
Also when you take in account this is happening in Regency England and he’s an heir to an estate of 22 and she’s a nurse of 29 whose previously been married and comes from a much poorer family that before like 10 years before the plot takes place were still nobodies and only got to the same level becuase his gay uncle gave them the abillity for one of them to go to war, and society doesn’t like this match at all.

Don’t worry she was widowed from a loveless marriage when she was married for only like 1 or two years and it was 5 years after and he was a soldier during the first years of the Napoleonic wars in like 1805 so she didn’t even know him at all before he died

She was never really searching for love, she was perfectly content working as a nurse in the war, alongside this scottish surgeon who was like a father to her and she looked up to him. (He was a real actual surgeon in the war that got a medal for his contribution, but apparently his medal got sold in the early 2000s)
