My teacher said that our exams will most likely get cancelled, so I don’t get why we’ll have to go back to school in June, especially since there will be only 6 weeks left until the summer break starts
a doctor is saying, by june first, there may be 100,000 deaths due to covid-19 within the US.
I think that might be a fact with the way things are going.
I did find out some semi good news recently.
- The virus doesn’t mutate quickly, so scientists have plenty of time to create a vaccine before it mutates and the vaccine they made becomes ineffective (They’ll have to make a new one to fit the new version of the virus)
- A vaccine is in the making apparently, but the vaccines might not be able to actually be used until a year from now
i saw. something in california, correct? like, they found a possible vaccine or cure?
sadly. yes.
I’m not sure where, but we were talking about coronavirus news in an online class, and a teacher mentioned that a vaccine is being developed, and that this vaccine will probably be one of the fastest developed vaccines ever.
that scares me, honestly.
Why?
because it’s the fastest ever developed. what if it possibly leads to mistakes of some sort, because it was to quickly made and never like, yk? i’m just probably overlooking it to much.
They’re still going to have to test it before using it, so that’s likely not going to happen. We need it to be developed fast!! People are dropping like flies!!!
True but it can still get a lot worse.
Drug manufacturers are trying to develop a vaccine for the new coronavirus as quickly as possible in an effort to slow its spread.
But scientists and medical experts are concerned that moving too quickly to release a vaccine for the virus could create added risk.
Studies suggest that coronavirus vaccines carry the risk of what is known as vaccine enhancement . This is a condition in which the vaccine can make the disease worse when a vaccinated person is infected with the virus.
Of course it’s risky, but like I mentioned before, it’s probably not going to be tested or used until like a year from now. And they kind of have to rush a little, because if not, the virus might mutate again, and then they’re going to have to create a whole new vaccine, which will take even longer! That’s why this virus is so terrible.
Yep true. The issue is that it’s going to take a year or more and by then this situation is going to be a lot worse. It’s a sticky dilemma we are in right now.
One of my neighbors said last night that the virus probably won’t disappear until 2 years from now.
The virus will most likely never completely disappear, but once there is a vaccine we can deal with it.
That makes sense.
The vaccine gets tested before using it though.
I know, but still, some vaccines have different effects on different people
Yes, but that can happen with any vaccine or medication. They have no other choice now but to rush. Lots of people are dying.
