Ashley
She rolled her eyes. “Do you want to follow me? Or do you want to just stand here on your phone all day?”
Sage
I didn’t wanna get lost, so I decided to just follow her for now. “Alright, fine.” Sage slides her phone in her pocket.
Ashley
“If we get lost…we get lost together.” She popped in a strand of bubble gum and began to chew it as they walked into the base.
Sage
As I’m walking I look around. There weren’t many people here at the moment. I wondered if anymore would show up. My phone buzzes. I read the notification. Ten missed calls from mom. She’s worried about me. I didn’t tell her where I was going. I couldn’t. I can’t risk the government finding out where I am. I sighed. I turned my phone off and continued to follow Ashley.
Ashley
They come across a cafeteria. The place smelled musty and looked rusted…so did everywhere else. “I wonder how long this place has existed. It’s been here for at least a year.”
Sage
“It’s definitely been here for more than a year. I mean look at this place. Trash scattered everywhere, cobwebs along the ceiling. This place is a mess!!” I started to wonder if I were better off just hiding somewhere in the city.
Ashley
“It’s better than nothing.” She sighed. She ran her finger against the railing and picked up a half inch of dust. “Have the organizers seen this? I swear if they make us clean up this mess…”
Sage
Sage watches a roach crawl across the floor. “Yuck! This place even has bugs. Hopefully our rooms will be cleaner than this.” Sage continues to drag her heavy luggage up the stairs.
Ashley
“I’ve learned to travel light.” She motioned to her backpack. “It’s always helpful if you got to be on the run. Did you carry that suitcase all the way up the hill?”
Sage
“Yes! It was horrible. I can’t wait to put this luggage down. Most of the things I have are snacks. I didn’t know how the food would be here” Sage laughs. She realizes she’s been holding a conversation for quite a while.
ORP: Gtg, sorry
(Ok bye)
Ashley
“Let’s hope it’s good, otherwise we will have to survive on your snacks for a long time.” She likes hearing the girl laugh.
Sage
We finally reach the top floor. Where all the rooms are. “I’m gonna go look for a room to stay in.”
Ashley
“I hope we don’t have to share rooms. I don’t want to be with a total stranger.” She follows the girls down the hallway.

Ashley
She nodded. “Let’s just claim our rooms. It looks like they’re are 30 rooms…I’ll put mine in one and you put yours in the other, then we can go outside.” She walks into the room and places her bag on the bed.

Sage
Sage walks to the room all the way at the end of the hall. She figures she won’t have to talk to many people if she stays in there. She enters the room. The room smells of cottage cheese. “It reeks in here.” Sage puts down her luggage and then starts to unzip her suitcase. She pulls out a bottle of air freshener and begins spraying. Sage inhales, then exhales. “Ahhh, much better.” She slides the bottle back into her suitcase, and then exits the room. She decides to bring a sweater since it’s a bit chilly outside.
Ashley
She unfortunately did Not have an air freshener. She walked out to the girl. “Hey…can I borrow an air freshener? I don’t have one and it reeks.” It seems like the whole room area smells like mold and cheese
