Exactly. There should be more typical t-shirts. And some long sleeve T-shirts. And not just in solid colors or stripes. Cause most of what I wear consists of graphic tees and leggings.
right? i wish that we could choose some options for layering, it does it super badly automatically.
i want more leggings… i don’t like the ones they have and i wear them like 24/7
Ok i will have to agree with you on this one,I like limelight a lot but i also dont like showing to much skin
I don’t know why, but this hairstyle strongly reminds me of medieval folks in comedy shows. It also reminds me of Lord Farquaad from Shrek. And because of that, I can’t take characters who have this hairstyle seriously
oh my god it really does look like that i feel very compelled
Really just deeping how sh*tty the episode community is. Yeah there are quite a lot of good people within the community however overall it’s horrible. I absolutely f*cking hate it.
Did something happen or is it that sh*ty?
Nothing’s really happened I’ve just been observing what people say and how people react to a lot of things and it’s just really not it.
Oh. The toxicity is terrible though…
Tell me about it! Most of them are so snobbish it’s ridiculous!!
It’s reminding me of the toxic part of the Steven Universe or Rick & Morty fandom and we already know how that goes down . I was never really into the episode community like I was the Wattpad community, I’ve had too many observations myself.
I actually think that Positively Princess did this pretty well, with the female suitor (I forgot her name oml) offering both a romantic relationship AND a professional friendship. Not only does this give the reader an LGBT option, but also an option to (technically) not have to deal with romance at all.
Maybe I’m just saying that because that princess is one of my favorite Episode characters though.
Incoming unpopular opinion.
An author recently posted on the Episode forums that she wanted to see more Christian representation, and a few authors replied saying that there already is enough Christian representation just because the characters celebrate Christmas and get married in a church with a white dress and a priest.
Um… sorry, but that’s not REAL Christian representation. I know atheists and agnostics that celebrate Christmas, and some people only set foot in a church for a wedding or baptism, but that doesn’t mean they actually practice the religion.
When I think of religious representation, I think of characters going to or mentioning that they’re going to/just got back from their place of worship. It could also be characters who read the Bible or the holy book of the religion they’re practicing, praying, or abstaining from certain foods and activities that their religion doesn’t allow. And that is something that is rarely portrayed in stories, regardless of the religion.
I wanted to state my opinion on that thread but the OP requested it to be closed before I even saw it.
Having characters getting married in church and celebrating Christmas is NOT religious representation.
Thank you for saying this because it needed to be said. I think people on that thread weren’t really being fair and rude to the OP. I understand her saying it was kinda ridiculous but it isn’t fair that mainly Christianity and religions in general is always used as conflict for homophobia in stories. They make it seem like there isn’t religious lgbt members. Why is it religion that is the subject of hate and it just so happens to be Christianity that’s picked the most?
Omg yes this is so true. Even the clothing options for limelight in most if not all stories especially drama and romance aren’t great and at most have revealing portions in them and even if there is a nerd geek sweater, the story will guilt trip us into thinking we or our character is ugly and ugh.
Seriously…why can’t I choose? It’s Episode Choose Your Story after all. That part of my choice is being robbed. Way to go of moving forward at making women feel comfortable in her own skin when her own choices and decisions cannot be respected lol in terms of how she wishes to wear. This is predominantly in clothing choices with most revealing outfits.
This^^^^^
people on episode are to sensitive, espically about culture.
listen I get not wanting your culture shown in a wrong way. but people have diffrent opinions, what you think are wrong or another person may think is right. I am autistic I often see it represnted wrong for me. but its represnted right for others because people have diffrent opinions and experince.
personally I see most people are happy to share their culture.
also no one complained over episode using those asian shirts in their featured stories on princes, it was first when they saw what it was called. but if the name matter that much
also just wanna mention 90% of stories have people walk to school in a bra. not relevant just wanted to mention
then the Long Double Dutch Braids, is not a black hair style, which people often say it is. and they say white charaters should not use it.
, or how about Headscarf they have no cultural to them , but people still complain and say we can not use them because its insenstive,
how can waering a scarf insult anyone.
I get some like, the miss use of david star on non jeweish charaters, or when people use afro hair for charaters there are suppouse to be ugle, that is wrong and insulting. and that is my opinion if its insulting its wrong,
if you use cultural stuff with the indtendt to insult someone, or say do something insulting with, your are a bad person
also how about when people where complain about non LGBT people would enter the queer contest
I am white my MC is black, is that not allowed too?
maybe I should just make 100% straigt cucasion story that way i dont mispresent anything because I am it? but then I dont have diviersity
I kinda disagree with this. Some of the cultural assets definitely belong to different cultures, like Jewish people, Muslims, Indians/Asians, and Russians. A headscarf (some) can also be used as a protective style for black women. I wear a headscarf myself, so I can see why others would be upset about this.
The people complaining were in the wrong.
I’ve written transgender, Asian and non-American characters, so yes, you can write black characters/MCs, respectfully, of course.
I am not talking about a hijab that I agree is a bit more cultural, I am talking about an ordinary headscarf.
I use headscarfsmostly bandana in the summer, I hate caps, but my skin is sensitive so I always get sunburn especially on my head. the scarf are not cultural.
