Weird Food Superstitions

Slightly belated weekly theme but still wanted to do this sooo…

Weird Food Superstitions

Have you heard of any of these superstitions, @/Foodies, and have you heard of any others?

  • Carrots make you see in the dark?
  • Greens (veges) make you grow hairs on your chest
  • Apple peels can predict true love
  • Garlic keeps the Vampires away
  • Long noodles = long life
  • Throwing rice at weddings for good luck and stuff
  • Salt over the shoulder to counter any bad luck
  • Give an orange to the person you want to fall in love with you
  • Onions on a windowsill protects the home
  • Adding milk before sugar in tea means you’ll never get married

Oh my God, I’m a gorilla :cowboy_hat_face::gorilla:

I have been doing this since… childhood. Single for life sounds cool :sunglasses:

I have some more –

  • Spilling milk suddenly means a bad omen is about to happen
  • Hanging lemons and 7 green chillies outside homes, shops or in vehicles to ward off “evil” energies
  • If you get two yolks instead of one while cracking an egg, it means there would be birth of twins in family.
  • People going to pilgrimage, students going to exams, or travellers going for long trips eat something sweet before their journey to bring in good luck and positive results.

The number of grains of rice left in your dish is the number of pimples you’ll be having. It’s a chinese myth, just to encourage children to finish their plates.

If you spill salt on someone, you’re cursing them to have bad luck.

WOW! Not only is this an interesting one but it’s a really scary one to tell teens.
