Oooo, an IT cool job! :sunglasses:

Oh, no problem, it stands for roleplaying! It’s hard to explain, but basically you create characters for a specific plot that the owner of the roleplay makes. You like… make storylines essentially as this character. It is really fun and it helps to develop your writing!

But anyway the forums are very lucky to have you! And you aren’t the only plus 40 adult here so no worries

Not as cool as you think. Mice and fibre optic fibre don’t go well together. Steel wool ultimately solved it but it still sucked.

At least my job tends to be push a button, get a banana type. I have the problem where I’m a problem solver type. I hate the administrative type of garbage which IT has become.

Thank you. Although, sith lords with a soft heart …isn’t that a 2018+ Star Wars thing? I pretend they don’t exist

I like my Sith Lords cruel, vindictive, and uncompromising. It is an age thing.

Ah, that sucks :persevere: A lot of my family members also work with computers, while it may not be the same, I’m curious and I’ll ask them what they think :eyes:

Also, how did you stumble across this place?

I saw the Wattpad forums close. I wanted to see other peoples responses out of curiosity. I found the forums that way. I just don’t know how Wattpad can close the Forums and think it is a good thing. I hate to say it it but it was the best thing about the site. As far as stories go, there was such a glut that unless you had the luck to win the lottery, you’re never going to be discovered.

Lol mine comes from playing Star Wars: The Old Republic game where you can choose to be a lightside sith or darkside sith. There is even a neutral option too.

I actually enjoyed that game. I bought it on steam although it crashed horrendously on Win 7. The problem is I’m the type that is inpatient. I grabbed a trainer and got the best equipment so I could kill everything in one swing of a light sabre…

Lets put it this way - I’m more focused on story than grinding!

Lol I can get what you mean! I actually like the game for the story building that it has plus the new content that has come out now.

We were secretly hoping people from Wattpad would come here :eyes: :joy:

I wasn’t aware that wattpad had a forum, I didn’t do much on wattpad though except read a few stories because I use tapas more often. :no_mouth: If I had known I would’ve joined! It’s a shame they closed them, do you know why they did that?

I’ve never seen the new content. I hate to say it but that game blew the new trilogy out of the water. It was awesome. I had so much fun following the story. The new trilogy could have learnt from it. I could accept Ep 1 of the new trilogy for what it is … but ep 2, i couldn’t accept how backwards it made Finn. He was such a good character. To make him a wuss after facing his demons and going to rescue Rey - completely utterly unacceptable. I couldn’t watch the movie past that point. I expected good things from Finn. I didn’t even get to see the utter atrociousness of how they dealt with Luke . Also, I know star wars and physics didn’t get along together, but the bombers were completely out of left field! I could accept strait firing lasers…but gravity in space! No can do!

Yeah, I wish they had taken a page out of EA’s book when it comes to Star Wars Universe. Last Jedi was not that good but I did love the graphics but that’s where it stops. The Bombers was such a weird issue because of how it ended. I will say I like both the first movie and last movie of the new trilogy. The last movie of the trilogy gave me Old Republic vibes with the massive army. You need to check out the trailers for the new content it’s amazing!

I really don’t understand why the closed them. It came from left field for me. From what I read, cancel culture was rampant. I never noticed it myself but I avoided topics that trended that way. Furthermore, the mods from what I read had trouble policing certain behaviors which resulted in an uneven applying of the rules.

If i were to guess, it is because they are Canadian company. In Canada, we have human rights tribunals. They are legal entities but the government pays for the litigant while the defendant has to pay their own defense. It is kind of a quasi judicial body which tends to bend left and has some mind boggling rulings.

I think it works great for individuals against huge corporations. But, when you’re a small time or medium company (which I think wattpad is in between), a ruling against you could hurt you badly. I think Wattpad felt themselves safer to cancel the forums to mitigate someone bring a human rights suit against them than be sorry for allowing them to stay.

I guess I could try it. The 2nd movie just soured it so badly. I so hoped Finn would come to his own and be a force to be reckoned with. He was such a compelling character that was wasted.

Plus, I grew up with the original trioligy. I remember loving Star Wars. My aunt took me to see the return of the Jedi In theatres. To basically stomp on Luke it made my heart break.

I grew up on the prequels and the old trilogy which I liked both versions. The new trilogy has some redeeming qualities but it also has some facepalming points too. I prefer the old trilogy and prequels plus the tv shows only.

Yeah, I was at the age where I saw the Phantom Menace in the theatre. I was like, hmm, this is very interesting, but a little awkward. It could have been a great movie, but the dialogue sucked. I hated Jar Jar.

The 2nd movie, I saw it in the theatre also. The dialogue was so stilted and I didn’t buy the padme and anakin romance. It was just so poorly done. I did like the action but left the theatre feeling empty.

I didn’t even see the third movie in theatre. I caught it on TV.

I took my son to the force awakens. I wanted to spread Star Wars to him. I enjoyed the first 2/3s. I felt the last 1/3 jumped the shark!

Yep, I felt the same on The Force Awakens. I liked all three of the prequel series but there were many points that could of been done better for sure. I liked the storyline of the second movie but I think they could of fixed the romance scenes that would of flowed smoother than the colossal mess it was. I feel like they rushed on the prequels and the last trilogy which is another reason why they didn’t do so well. Also, they rewrote the scripts for the last three films. They were suppose to go very differently from what I heard.

Welcome @Gokuh!

I was once enrolled in an I.T. degree

@Eleven_MA and I are here because of that too, haha.

This is pure conjecture, but I’m guessing it has something to do with the “resistance groups” that were threatening to cancel Wattpad/the Ambassadors. We’re in for a tough lot trying to share our stories without the Forums anymore though.

They didn’t make it very accessible, haha. You could only get to it from the “community” tab on the main page (which you couldn’t see if your window was too small anyway/if you were on mobile) and there was no access to it from the app.
