What characteristics do writers usually assign to vampires?

Vampires are quite a popular feature in writing these days, I remember back when I had episode it was hard to find a story that wasn’t some “Vampires Vs Werewolves” thing or a “vampire gang” or something, so I thought I’d make a list of the usual traits associated with vampires.

Common traits

  • Bad boys/girls
  • Attractive
  • Edgy
  • Mysterious
  • Powerful
  • Intimidating
  • Overprotective (usually the males)
  • Sad/broken
  • Emo

More uncommon traits are the vampire traits have the creature actually being scary or at least try to make the creature scary.

@Writers so what do you guys think? Can you add to the list?

And they are all like- ‘I’m doing this to protect you’ or sum shxt

  2. “Eye rolling face syndrome” or just a stoic face or a face that always glares at someone for no reason

  3. Red eyes or purple eyes

  4. Thirsty for blood (true as that is what vampires are)

  5. Extremely attractive

  6. Dark past :star_struck:

  7. Cold and unemotionally reachable

  8. I guess a player (most common in males but also in women)

As opposed to Samantha Harker (FTD) who literally couldn’t care less and actually despises humans, thinking they’re only good for giving blood.
