What could easily ruin your favorite Game?

Everyone has their favorite game they like to play the most. Though there are times when something will come around the corner and ruin the game for you. For a good while, I didn’t play any Sim’s games because I couldn’t get the Sims 3 which I love to work on my old computer. The Sims 3 is my favorite game by far out of the whole franchise so when I realized I couldn’t play my favorite series it ruined the Sims for me. Though I did get a new laptop with Windows 10 which allows me to play both The Sims 4 and The Sims 3. There was also two other games that were ruined for me back when I was younger. The first game being Syberia which somehow glitched on me at the time. I couldn’t get it to work which pretty much ruined the whole series for me sadly. I like playing games in order if I can. The last game that was ruined for me was Dante’s Inferno for Xbox 360. I ran into a glitch both times I tried to play the game. I ran the game again which the same glitch got on another Xbox 360. This completely ruined the game for me since it’s really hard to fix glitches of that sort.

So, what could easily ruin your favorite games? Has it happened already? If so, what caused the game to be ruined for you?

When games make way too in-game purchases and it gets on my nerves

I definitely understand that! There are some games I can’t stand just for this reason.

Oh yeah, I hate it when it’s the match 3 ones that do that. I have only come across two games that do advertise buying in-game options but I can exit out of the offer each time so it doesn’t bother me too much. It’s when I can’t exit out of the offer after a certain amount of time that really annoys me.

  • glitches
  • gameplay rendered too repetitive

Yep, I can agree with all of that!

When you have to pay to play, or I need a completely different device that I don’t own to play the game (looking at you, League of Legends)

  • Change in the plot line
  • More character deaths (Mortal Kombat I’m looking at you :eyes:)
  • Too many in-game purchases
  • No actual direction for the game

  • Too many ads. This applies more to mobile games than video games. But especially those games where whenever you have to restart a level, you get ads.

  • Not being able to pass a level after so many tries and only being able to pass it if you purchase something.

  • The game stops being challenging enough to make you continue playing.

Oof I know what you mean. That’s how I felt about Star Wars the Old Republic when I had a macbook instead. You can’t play the game on apple devices because of a certain game engine they chose to make the game on.

This is the worst! It feels like mockery when you’re so close to winning and it asks you to buy things to help you win.

Yep, another reason why I do not play candy crush anymore.

Definitely more of a problem with free mobile games than anything else.

Very much so but you can disable that feature in google play store so that you can’t pay for anything in the game. You still get the offers but at least this way it deters you from paying for items.

I’m never really tempted because I don’t have enough money to buy things I want to buy, so I’m not wasting that on 5 more moves

Lol very true, I just keep playing until I pass the level without buying any gold, rubies and special items to win faster.

If it gets too annoying, I’ll just undownload it. I have better things to do with my time than cursing at a level 20 times :joy:

Lol I just a take a step back and play another game then come back to beat the level. Usually works well for me when I so this but I totally get where you are coming from.
