With the theme this week being Orange, @Discussions let’s talk about:
ORANGE
I’m from the Netherlands and so orange is our national colour. if you like this color visit us on the 28th of April: KINGS DAY.
It’s the birthday of our king and so everyone will be wearing orange!
We’ll also be eating orange food!
So when I think of orange, I think of the Netherlands. But I do not really use the colour all that much except for like fire themes. It’s one of the colours I use the least but it’s growing on me. especially with fall/autumn themed things.
Is it really? That’s cool. Why is it orange? What’s the connection between the colour and country?
Prince William of Orange
The colour orange refers to the family name of the Dutch Royal Family, the House of Orange-Nassau.
the only reason the dutch flag has no orange in it is that they couldn’t keep a good orange colour in the fabric, it would fade or turn red. it used to be orange, white blue as seen in the picture
during kingsday or the birthday of queen maxima, the flag looks like this:
and we’re only allowed to use the orange ribbon on special days that are connected to the royal family (birthday, coronation, etc).
I’m Dutch, but orange is probably my least favourite colour, it’s way too bright for me (and also, I don’t like the fruit at all, I dislike citrus fruit in general)
both dutchies don’t like orange as a color
I like burnt Orange. The fruit can rot. I hate it.
That’s really cool. I love this.
Why do you hate it?
I really don’t know…the smell makes me nauseous. No other citrus fruits, just oranges.
How odd? I wonder what that could be.
she’s a cat
Cats don’t like oranges?
I knew that from reading the fault in out stars a billion times as a teen
I only like orange when it’s juice
Or soup
Most cats don’t like citrus its how we kept our cat out if the Christmas tree by putting some orange scents under it.
Ngl that would work against me too
I like both the color and the fruit.
Well, it’s not all citrus. Just oranges.
