I love horror and fantasy too! You can see that I live in an imaginary world – even if it’s a scary one! Real life is more terrifying to me
Ooh I’ve never really had the chance to get into detective stuff, except from reading Nancy Drew when I was a kid. Any recommendations?
Probably none that you would find interesting I’m 13. Of course, murder most ladylike series is good, Agatha Christie (duh!). One of Us is Lying and its sequel. Connections in Death is good imo too.
Well, I like to read more than one genre, but mainly I read: Action, drama (here and there), Sci-Fi and adventure.
I am less attached to romance
Great genres! But then again I’m not the best person to ask because I love most genres haha!
what about historical fiction?
being historical usually is a play on real events, and historical fiction tends to bring in elements of history, fiction and fantasy
I read a lot of murder mysteries, and thrillers. I’m into fantasy, but really the only fantasy series I read are Keeper of the Lost Cities, Six of Crows, and The Crown’s Game. I also like sci-fi dystopian future books like the Renegades series.
I love FANTASY!!! I also love crime stories, adventure, romance, and action!
Thriller stories are so underrated.
Same, same, same and oh, same!
I love sci-fi but I haven’t read any horror in a while and I tend to like that too.
Same, actually! I love sci-fi. Reading horror freaks me out more than watching it usually because my imagination can invent stuff that’s a lot scarier than what CGI is capable of It’s like whenever a creature/monster/ghost/demon gets a face reveal, it’s suddenly not so scary anymore!
I love dystopian novels but my main problem is I find it hard to find good ones
The Hunger Games and Throne Of Glass are two of my most favourite dystopian novels.
I’ve read the entire hunger games series around this time last year tbh . I really enjoyed it even though it was so emotionally taxing, when Katniss was hungry so was I.
I know! When she was thirsty, so was I! I felt sad when she was sad and its the first series that actually made me feel like that.
In the third book, I was just waiting for Peeta to return and like, when he came but he hated Katniss, I put the book down and cried my eyes out first.
I guess I read contemporary fiction the most, like new releases and stuff, mostly due to my book club. Then, if I like the book, I go back and read other works by her. I liked Commonwealth by Ann Patchett so I just finished Bel Canto (highly recommend).
Sometimes a non-fiction book thrown in there (like Bad Blood about the scammer Elizabeth Holmes and Sapiens, the coolest look at history).
And then I read fluffy YA romances in french because that’s my level there. Hope I will be able to read more books of substance in French someday!
Bump
Bump! (4)
And I read mostly fiction and fantasy!
I like every genre except romance but I love thrillers and murder mysteries the most
I was into fantasy a few years ago, but I stopped reading fantasy after trying to read Harry Potter… It was way too predictable to me and I almost fell asleep while reading it
