What makes you stop reading a story whether it’s on episode, wattpad or in paperback form?
- repetitive plot
- really slow
- Mary Sues
- really frequent changes in narration
If the hook is something other than romance, then the story starts to revolve around the romance. Like, don’t get me wrong. I think having romance in a story always helps - it’s amazing for character development and stakes. But when it takes over the story and pushes everything else aside I just get bored. However, if the romance is the hook, I have less of an issue. The later Final Fantasy games didn’t try to hook with other things. The romance was always the biggest thing right from the off, and the best scenes and story beats are always based around the romance. That’s how to do it right.
Oh yeah. Boring, bland casts are a big turn off too. When descriptions of characters make them all look the same. You know: ‘pale, tall, pretty, glittering eyes, huge crotch bulge, etc.’ That gets on my nerves as a character designer.
-
When pregnancy pops up in all of a sudden. While it’s not in the plot
-
Cliche plots for sure
-
the so called "sassy/tough MC when in reality it’s just b-tchy not bichin’ (see the difference right there)
-
extremely shy/weak MC with the animation idle_awkward that comes along
• Cannot spel or us proepr garmar
• Is…a…really…slow…plot
Probably more that I can’t think of
- Repetitive plots
- Poor directing, spelling and grammar
- Glorification of rape, abuse, psychopaths, serial killers, pregnancies, cheating, irresponsible relationships, casual sex, rebounds, sugar daddies, mental illness, suicide, forced marriages, teacher-student relationships
- Anything written in Classic art style
- Stories made on the Episode phone app
- Plagiarism
- Front covers that are inappropriate i.e. very intimate imagery
- Long description of sex scenes and the visual
- Sexualisation of religion
- MC with this “not like the other girls” mentality
“Strong female characters”
Flirty LIs/cocky/player LIs(no not bad boys theres a huge diffrence)
Putting my MC in skimpy/revealing clothing(only making 2% of an effort if ur MC wears a hijab)
Sex in any way shape or form
Art scenes
When the overlays are favored for fair skinned ppl(ik these things are an after thought but still…)
When MCs wear modest clothing and get put down for it in favor of revealing clothes
Making christians evil/rude/bigots
Sexual story covers(which is like 99% of episodes now)
When the story is marketed as FULL CC but its everything but skintone(99% of the time its not plot related…and when it is their race/culture is never mentioned once. Or its so the MC can match art scenes)
All this
This one. Just this one…
People always adding limited CC whenever it’s a white or “tanned Mc.”
Gross sex scenes.
And also incest stories are THE turnoff in the whole episode community
• Slu_s coming out of no where
• poor Directing skills
• Language mishaps
• Why are all the characters flipping white don’t get me wrong like I’m half white and half black but like where the fuck are all the mixed kids in this and African Americans and other races period just why and when the author makes the character black tons of people are demanding to change the skin color
• pregnancy out of no where like I’m alright when it’s like the last chapter or two when they get together and shows them having families
• The main lead gets another bi*** preggy
• the boy was a manwhore or a bad boy
• rude mean girls taking the love interest
• " I can change him "
• " She’s/ He’s different from the others "
Pet names or nicknames like "kitten
• Danger
• mafia
Oh theres mixed people, they just don’t know how to make them correctly.
Mixed in their eyes = Tanned White Peeps
Lol they make them white with tanned skin and then when someone questions it, the character suddenly changes race
That makes me roll my freaking eyes out.
“Oh they’re 1/4 Native American, with Mexican descendant, 1/25th Indian, 2% Milk–”
Reader: “So, wheres the character from?”
Authors with Tanned White Characters trying to cover it up:
I’m so sorry for my racism! I’m uneducated.
