Okay so I was having a conversation with my friend about what the past tense of words are and some just donât sound right at all? Is it breathed? Brothe? Who knowsđ
@anon68003072 suggested to make a thread about it so here it is!
Also feel free to discuss the past tense of any words that just donât sound correctđ€Ș
I think itâs breathed.
Iâll say what I said to you
It makes virtually no sense either way so you say it in the metaphorical sense âI took a breathâ.
Or âI took a breatherâ (I relaxed)
It just sounds wrong even though itâs probably right
Brothe sounds even weirder to me.
âI brothedâ
Brothed
Or breathen
Breathened
Breathended
Breathe!
If you say brothed itâs like you just sat there being broth
I love how it suggests âis it breathe or breathe?â as one of the questions that were also asked by people
Breathened!
I think we should do a poll @Duckling
I still like brothe a lot I wish it was thatđ
Added help, discussion and opinion tags
