Personally, I would say a film nerd is someone who knows a lot about the actual production of the movies they watch as well as any hidden details in the movie that the casual viewer might not notice.

Not just production but a lot of the smaller details.
Here’s a question, what would you say the difference between a film nerd and a film buff? Is there a difference?

I think film nerds are people who are all about movies. They know literally everything about movies; the production, cast, all the little details, EVERYTHING.
And film buffs are people who want to know stuff about movies? I mean, that’s what I found on Google…
