Before you actually watched anime, what were your first impressions of it? If you don’t or haven’t watched it, what are your impressions of anime in the present? For me, there was none because I didn’t know anime existed until I watched one lol. However, when I did, the only thing that really interested me was finding a cartoon with a storyline as I’ve watched it since I was very young. Anyone else?

My pearl-clutching, good Christian friends and family all had me convinced that it was the most perverted, deviant thing the Devil has ever conceived. And they were kinda right, but most of Japan is pretty unnecessarily thirsty, so 
Also, my great aunt said that I was “betraying my people” by watching anime because it’s made in Japan and I’m Chinese??? Like???

I mean at first, I never liked watching stuff that wasn’t in human form
I don’t know why but I didn’t find them interesting but I actually wanted to try and see how it seems and it is quite good

I’m not really an anime person, but it was something my brother always liked (he’s like 10 lol) my first impression was that it was annoying because my brother is the most annoying person on that planet

I saw it as a thing that some of my friends but also people I didn’t really like were into so it didn’t interest me too much until I actually started getting into it, my first anime was Tokyo Ghoul and I remember really liking it and feeling bad that I’d not got into it sooner
Hmmm… I don’t know to be honest. My first anime I watched was when I was like super young, and it was also kind of inappropriate lol? But I remember being super fascinated by the anime’s concept and, I think that’s how I’ve thought about it ever since.
If you can remember even a little bit, how did you feel about anime when you first discovered it?

I mean ever since I was a kid I always thought anime was just cartoons. It looked the same as the 90’s batman/X-man shows and I love shows with constant actions and plot. I couldn’t tell at such a young age but it was more for adults and older teens than regular cartoons. Sure, there were a few safe ones like Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Digimon, Yugioh, and some mecha anime. But I also watched adult cartoons like Bebe’s Kids BoonDocks, and Southpark. My parents did not care what I watched really and watching anime has always been something I did. My uncle even brought Dragon-Ball-Z DVD when they first came out and we used to eat while watching it.

At first I watched and still watching anime (id even knew that these are anime) like crayon shinchan and doraemon (they are funny)
And first time I watch anime series was Death Note and i was like Interesting
