Whether you have or haven’t played on Episode, you may know what I’m talking about. If not, let me explain. Whenever you go into a story on Episode and meet the LL female MC, she almost always looks the same as thousands of other LL female MCs, and that’s basic (unoriginal). Sure, sometimes the author lets us customize her, but come on, aren’t you tired of seeing the same pouty lips, diamond shaped head, and generic eyes! I surely am. I mean, look at this!
Almost every basic female MC in LL
I stole these character features from that famous author on Episode, Andrianne Roxi lol
Besides the facial features, these female MCs usually have little to nothing to make them seem like a unique character. Barely or no personality, hobbies, or flaws. All they do is hang out with friends, work, date or have casual s*x, or talk to the LI before building a relationship. Seriously, where is the diversity?!
Compare those 3 to these potential diverse female MCs
Where’s the Latin American black lady who pursues her dream as a fashion designer that also enjoys long morning walks and her biggest flaw is her bluntness?
I see potential for this biracial Irish young adult who’s starting her first year in college. She could have autism (like me ), have a passion for ballet, and her biggest flaw could be her lack of communication.
What about a local Australian lady in her 30s that is married to her husband and they have 2 kids? Based on her current mood, she might hate something in her life and has no idea what she can do to change it, until later on.
I’m not sure what kind of story this girl could be the leading role in, but I see her as a bold, colorful, and cheerful Asian who believes in superheroes and is a pansexual.

You know how in some Episode LL stories where you see an old lady or the MC’s grandma, you realize how basic they look? Or even worse, those old *ss ladies are actually the MC’s mom? Yeah, no. Not even a 40 year old mom ages that quickly to look like your grandma (at least, from what I’ve seen), but that’s besides the point. To make that sweet (or evil, depending on the role she plays in your Epi story) old woman look less generic [by giving her the only mature eyes Episode has and the morning updo], you should give her the most recent eye shapes that make your character look tired—the wide upturned and downturned eyes (not to be confused with the deepset downturned eyes)—and maybe a longer hairstyle. No one said that an old woman couldn’t have long hair, so go for it! Here’s who I created based on that criteria:
Different look, but same status, which makes this lady look realistic. You could make this kind of lady a side character, or better yet, make her the leading role in an Episode story! In my opinion, I see this lady as active and independent, but sweet and simple.
And that’s it! What do you think? Do you agree with my opinions on LL female MCs? What kind of female MC do you wish to see more in Episode LL stories? Maybe show me a picture for visual reference! That’s all I have to say for now. And for the record, the way I planned these characters was just for the sake of this topic. They’re not going to be in any story of mine, so you’re free to use them. I did a bit of research on the cultures of those potential LL females to prove my point. I’m new at writing, so I still have a lot to learn about diversity in stories.
