So, first of all, what are Master’s Degree and Ph.D.?
According to Wikipedia, a Master’s Degree is an academic degree awarded by universities or colleges upon completion of a course of study demonstrating mastery or a high-order overview of a specific field of study or area of professional practice. Earning this degree usually takes 1 to 2 years, but some courses need more years.
A Ph.D. (short for “Doctor of Philosophy”) is an academic or professional degree that, in most countries, qualifies the degree holder to teach their chosen subject at university level or to work in a specialized position in their chosen field. You can start studying for this degree after you’ve gotten your Master’s Degree, but it is also possible to get it without the latter. Compared to Master’s Degree, it takes four years or so to complete.
Gaining either or both of these degrees have a lot of benefits—you have more and advanced knowledge which can make it easier for you to get higher positions in a company.
@Discussions, would you want to get them someday? Why or why not?
As for me, yes, most definitely, since the internet tells me that the profession I want requires me to get a PhD (or maybe just a Master’s Degree). Thinking about the extra years, though, it’s sad but I’m sure it’s going to be worth it lmao.
