The results of the voting. How it works is you had to be in the top 5 in both community and judges in order to be able to win. So, unfortunately that means @Aprilt221’s story and @Rainbow’s second story aren’t taking the price based on the community vote and @MeghanWrites based on the jury voting (feedback will follow)
Now the community vote, 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd place 7, 3rd 5, 4th 3 and 5th 1.
So this leads to the following score after community vote only.
@Sophia1233 and @Raven_Black 10
@WritingWithStars 10
@Rainbow’s first story 5
@SkyWalker’s 5
We don’t have a 5th place since people have been eliminated based on the fact you have to be top 5 in both.
Now to the jury vote, I will provide feedback for everyone even if you have been eliminated. This is my blunt personal opinion but I based it on how the voting process went.
@Sophia1233 and @Raven_Black’s story
You scored 29.34 out of 40 points, we don’t think the story fully fits the theme and writing technically could be better, but it was really interesting to read and very unique point of view to write in.
@Rainbow’s first entry
It scored 36.34 out of 40 points, it fitted the theme perfectly and had a very good use of grammar, vocabulary and interpunction. It contained a few clichés which costed you a few points in the creativity part, but in general it was a good story.
@MeghanWrites
You scored 28.5 out of 40 points, it was too short for the requirements which decreased your score in multiple ways. Not only because we judged based on that but also since it didn’t really feel as a story, it is technically very well written and could be the start of a story but doesn’t feel like it’s complete.
@Rainbow’s second story
This one had 34.66 out of 40 points. The main difference is that the story didn’t flow as natural as the first one, the writing style still is excellent though.
@SkyWalker’s story
It scored 30.33 out of 40 points. As Meghan you have lost points because the story wasn’t the required length. The story was well written though and described the moment very well.
@WritingWithStars
You’ve scored 37 out of 40 points, very creative related to the theme and well written. Where you mainly lost the points is you had an 8 out of 10 for the flow of the story, sometimes it felt a little like the sentences weren’t connected so that’s something you could work on but in general it was a very good story.
@Aprilt221
You scored 29 out of 40 points. What was a struggle for me personally was to actually read it cause it’s hand written, that has it’s charm but is more of a bar to actually start reading your story and that probably cost you community votes. The theme was clear in the story and it was well written.
So the scored for the jury vote:
@Sophia1233 and @Raven_Black 3
@WritingWithStars 10
@Rainbow’s first story 7
@SkyWalker’s 5
The combined scores to determine the winner:
@Sophia1233 and @Raven_Black 10+3 = 13
@WritingWithStars 10+10 = 20
@Rainbow’s first story 5+7 = 12
@SkyWalker’s 5+5 = 10
Congrats @WritingWithStars
