The gist is to write a list of books that you recommend for other users to read. Well, it’s been a while since I have read real books. So, I’m going to add otome stories and so on to the list as well. I need to get back into reading on a regular basis again.
Series and Regular Books:
Series Books
-
Dark Witch - Nora Roberts book which is part of The Cousins of O’Dwyer Trilogy. I actually haven’t finished this book but I always love Nora Robert’s novels. I highly recommend it if you like adult romance books based on witchcraft.
-
Dark-Hunters Series - Sherrilyn Kenyon series about vampire-like hunters who work for Artemis the Goddess of the Hunt and Childbirth. The series is technically based during modern times but most of the warriors are ancient compared to humans. They come from all parts of the world. I recommend this series because of the core part of the storyline through the novels.
-
Dark Series - Christine Feehan book series which is about again vampire-like immortals who live in Transylvania during modern times of when the books were published which is 1999 and on. Though the book series might be based at earlier time point. This series is a very different series from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter series. I really recommend this series for it’s storytelling and wide range of characters who all hit a certain chord in your mind when you read the books.
-
Star Wars Saga - these books are written by different authors but they are recounting of the 9 episodes of the Skywalker Saga. I really enjoyed reading them since it gave you a more in-depth insight to the actual story compared to the movies basically. Yes, I am of course recommending a Star Wars book series.
-
Once Upon a Time Series - Is written by multiple authors in which they tell an unique take of fairy tales from the past. Each book is a refreshing look on how to decipher the many complex parts of fairy tales. My favorite two books would have to be Wild Orchid (Mulan) and Beauty Sleep (Sleeping Beauty). These stories are short but they leave a lasting mark after you read them. This is not to be confused with the Once Upon A Time tv series. That is a whole different storyline.
-
The Brides Quartet - Nora Roberts book series that is based on a group of four friends who own a wedding planning business. Each book is based on one of the four women. My favorite book is called Savor the Moment which is based on Laurel who is the person that makes the wedding cakes in the group. It is the third book out of the series.
Regular Books
-
Blue Moon - The summer I discovered the world was not black-and-white but a host of annoying shades of gray was the summer a lot more changed than my vision. Call me Jessie, or better yet, Officer McQuade. On the night the truth began, our usually shy wolf population near my hometown of Miniwa, Wisconsin attacked. At the scene of the first crime, I found a wolf totem, which lead me to Professor Will Cadotte, an expert in Native American mythology, particularly of his tribe the Ojibwe. This is actually a series but I have only ever read the first three books. Each book has a great storyline but it is an adult book series. I also didn’t read these books in the correct order too.
-
Hunters Moon - Beneath a hunter’s moon blood turns from crimson to black . . .Once upon a time they called me Ms. Tyler, Leigh to my friends. I was a kindergarten teacher who dreamed of love, children and that cliché picket fence. Then my worst mistake came back and brutally took away everything I ever loved. Mistakes . . . they can haunt you. Until you make them stop. I became a hunter, a Jager-Sucher. Specialty: Werewolves. My starry-eyed dreams might be dead, but that doesn’t mean everyone else’s has to be. But now there’s a bigger, badder beast in town and it’s doing my work for me.
-
Dark Moon - The bronze nameplate on my desk reads Dr. Elise Hanover, virologist, for one simple reason: I’ve made it my mission to cure lycanthropy. My life depends on it. I am a werewolf too. I’ve been holed up in a secret Montana compound for . . . what year is it? Let’s just say it’s been a while. But when the compound is blown to bits, and the biggest, baddest, craziest werewolf of all escapes, I’m thrown together with FBI agent, Nic Franklin. Unfortunately, he’s the man whose heart I broke once upon a time, and he hasn’t forgotten, or forgiven, me yet.
Otome Stories - Love365/Lovestruck
I’m only going to list off a hand full of the ones I like. There are more but these are the top favorites.
Love365
-
Kissed by the Baddest Bidder - You are a maid at Japan’s first casino hotel where you stumble onto it’s dark secret, the black market auctions, and end up being bought by one of the bidder managers. This is one of my favorite otome stories from Love365 app. it’s also one of the core otome novels that the Voltage Inc. company made. It’s also still being updated with new content as of this month.
-
My Forged Wedding - You move to Tokyo in hopes to finding a better job, and your uncle agrees to help but first you must help one of his friends which is to pretend to be his fiancée for one month. This is another favorite of mine that I love to read. This is another one of the main otome novels made by Voltage as well. You can find it on the app.
-
Finally, In Love Again - On the day you were fired from your job as a pastry chef, you receive an invite from your mom to a singles party. You go, since you’ve not been in a romantic relationship for ten years, despite the event being held on the same day as your birthday. You meet five men at the singles party, whom have taken a sudden interest in you, leaving you with a decision to make. This novel is another favorite of mine because the main character is actually closer to my age so I could connect with the story more. It’s cute story with many LI that are interesting. I love that it’s based on an MC that can make cakes.
-
Her Love in the Force - You attend a police academy in hopes of fighting for justice. You together with another woman, are the only women in the police academy. I tend to like action stories like this one a lot. It just resonates with some deep inside. This is one of my all time favorites out of the Love365 series.
Lovestruck
-
Astoria Fates Kiss - Monsters living among humans can be a dangerous matter… Good thing your agency exists to keep them in line. With big dreams and an even bigger heart, you aspire to climb the agency’s ladder until one day, five mythical beings ask for your help! “You don’t know anything about monsters… yet.” People have always feared them, but… will you be the one to unlock the secrets to their cases… and their hearts? I love anything that is Greek Mythology inspired. This is an amazing story! Just note that it’s the American Otome game version which means it caters to the more risque aspect of the stories plus non heterosexual relationships too. Most of Lovestruck stories are like this with certain routes. As to why the Otome thread for this app is in the Restricted section instead.
-
Love & Legends - Downtown Chicago disappears after lightning strikes and is replaced by… a castle?! Apprehended and accused of crimes you didn’t commit, you’re left with one choice: tie your fate to one of five fantasy heroes, or perish. But soon enough, it’s not just your life on the line- it’s your heart. This is a new story in the past few years compared to Astoria and the other four main novels. I like the story since it has a King Arthur vibe to it. The novel was released when the Lovestruck app was released to the public.
-
Havenfall is for Lovers - Vampires, werewolves, and demons, oh my! Life in a small town seems so simple until your sister goes missing, and the only ones willing to help you are supernatural beings! Trusting a monster takes bravery and courage, and maybe just a little bit of… love? I love this story for how the supernatural are portrayed. Also, the storyline is really good.
