I can see her point of view and why it might be concerning for her, but it also means that the people she’s with care enough to ask. As a non-binary person, I wish people (cis or not) would bring more attention to pronouns. My pronouns are important to me, but people just assume my pronouns instead of asking.

I completely understand where you’re coming from! Although I get that as a binary trans woman, it must be so awful and dysphoria-triggering to have only her pronouns questioned. That’s why I think the solution is for cis people to try to help normalise saying pronouns. Since the thing that makes her feel dysphoric is that she’s not being treated like a cis woman, it would be nice if we could make everyone be treated the same

I agree, because honestly, even with some cis people it’s hard to tell. If we all normalized the concept of asking people for their pronouns the same way we asked for their name, I feel like the world might also become a more accepting place because if you make a habit of asking, it becomes less phasing when people say ‘my pronouns are they/them’.
