He is adorable looking!
He kind of reminds me of a Koala bear with his ears.
One of my favourite animals and I hate the fact that they’re almost extinct and endagered.
I know it is really sad that is the case for them. Though the government is trying to raise their numbers in the wild which is great!
Fun Facts: Giant Panda
Baby Pandas are no bigger than a stick of butter when firstborn. They are born with a thin white fur coat that sits over their pink little bodies. It’s adorable looking too!
They are usually born between Jully and September every year. March is usually the “falling in love” time period for adult pandas to fall in love. The baby panda will stay in the womb for about 3-5 months before being born.
If you ever visit China during late August to December then you should visit Chengdu Panda Base. During that time you are more likely to see the new baby pandas that have been born for that year. Here is their website in English. They have so many pictures of pandas!

Newborn Pandas only weigh about 100g (0.2 pounds) when they are firstborn. Considering the fact that pandas usually weigh between 220-320 pounds that is a very small baby to come from such a big animal. The lightest newborn panda was weighed at 36g (0.1 pounds) while the heaviest one was at 210g (0,5 pounds).
According to experts, baby pandas are born small because of the different evolution changes the panda species have gone through. Also, another factor is that they mainly eat bamboo which has very low amount of nutrients.
Technically, the baby pandas are born furless and pink but they have a short wire-like fur for about 3 weeks before the actual white and black fur starts appearing. Also, the adult pandas usually only associate themselves with each other for about 3-4 days. Panda generally gives birth to one baby at a time. Though there have been cases where Panda’s have given birth to twins before but this usually causes the mother to pick the strongest baby at the time to keep. This process is different when at the panda bases or other facilities of that nature. The keepers will rotate the babies every 3 hours to make sure that both babies survive.
Panda babies ’ life expectancy are low due to many factors when they are born. They are born blind alongside the fact they can’t move their legs. They also rely on their mother’s warmth, milk, and protection during the first couple of months of their life. Many of the Pandas in the wild actually have twins but they have to choose which one will survive. There are even some cases where the mother panda accidentally crush their babies when trying to keep them warm. Their pregnancy time is one of the few reasons that the population is classified as vulnerable since they can only give birth to one-two babies at a time. Habitats can also be another factor in the low survival rates of the babies since the panda’s territory is dwindling. Though the Government and WWF are trying there best to keep the pandas from falling further down the species status chart.
Here is a chart that goes over how a baby panda’s life to a full-grown adult.

Because they love them dearly! Also, the babes can’t move so that have to cart them around.
Exactly, they could just roll the cart off the cliff and not have to deal with them anymore.
