I agree with what you said, but I feel like saying this is just going to make someone overthink the numbers even more

Why is my post not worth liking? Is my voice less significant than others?
But yeah, donāt let the numbers determine your worth.

Look if they posted this confession like last month or something I would have been: your right I over reacted and I shouldnāt take it that seriously. HOWEVER this confession was posted 4 days after shanniiwrites created a topic asking for money to fund the forums. Explaining how she was sick and couldnāt work.

There was a reason, yes, but it doesnāt really make it right. People did overreact, but it happens when youāre anonymous and nobody knows your true intentions.

I agree with @idiot.exe the confession was really rude, it was really insensitive to Shanniiwrites and all her hard work. But didnāt they apologize for the mess they caused and say they were not going to reveal their identity? (Iām guessing if they posted the idea of the new website they would reveal their identity, so they are most likely not going to post it) Iām sure they didnāt know, but I understand where you are coming from.

Okay mean grumpy āEl just woke up timesā but nobody overreacted and nobody owes anybody an apology. That person said what they said anonymously, without thinking how it may be seen, the reactions were harsh but fine given the circumstances. I get that for the confessor it probably wasnāt pleasent to read but I donāt think they thought what they were going to write through. I didnāt say anything about this at the time because to be completely frank with you all I just didnāt care enough and Iām only saying something now because the wound is reopened, they said something that caused a few people to be upset and one of those people just so happened to be the owner of the forum who has many reasons to be upset about what appeared to be somebody who was trying to steal users for a forum they were making.
Granted, that person has now apologized and said they mean no harm but circumstances at the time meant that as far as Iām concerned those reactions were valid. The person is anonymous, they arenāt protected by our rules, if they wanted that protection they shouldnāt have said so non-anonymously.
Now for the actually mean part of what Iām saying. I donāt get why you guys are still bringing this up days after the event? Why try to reopen old wounds. And youāre so verbal about it now but then you didnāt say a damn thing. Why didnāt you say something to everybody at the time? Iām seeing posts about this from so many people who stayed silent during the event. Donāt try to tell me you were scared to speak up considering you are all speaking up right now on the same thread. If you werenāt online at the time it was happening then that is the only valid excuse.
But from what I can see you guys have just seen some confessions defending the person and thought āokay guess we defend them now and air our grievancesā.
We appreciate that the person meant no harm, we really do. But Iām not going to sit in judgement over the way people reacted.

And Iām sorry but defending anonymous people makes little to no sense to me considering that they are hidden and protected by anonymity. Nobody is going to treat them any differently on the forum or in real life because of what they said, we donāt know who they are and we arenāt gonna hunt them down.

You donāt need to apologize, nobody here who has continued things needs to apologise. I get why you guys feel the way you do and maybe I would feel the same if I hadnāt seen the way what was said affected people.
